What a wanker, one of a a very small number of players who deserves both their legs broken and to never set foot on a football pitch again. FA should take proper action against this muppet now.Look at him then claiming he only pushed him in the chest!! Lucky he didnt do it to big oul Chris Samba.

They aren't his legs, son, they're Newcastle's legs.  :)

Pedersens a c*nt, been trying to get a rise from him all game, and it worked. Probably be deservedly banned for three games now.

Not seen the game at all, only this incident.

Looked like Pedersen said something when they clashed shoulders.

I don't really know anything about Pedersen and whether he deserves that particular moniker, but to be fair I'd be telling my players to wind someone like Joey up anyway. You have to pick on weaknesses. If that weakness is a mental one rather than, say, a dodgy left-back, so be it.

If you wind anyone up enough, a reaction can be got. Look at Zidane!

Then again Zidane had always had the capacity to lose it too. People talk about the Materazzi incident as out of character but it wasn't that unexpected.

He's a c*nt because of the way he and the other c*nts in his team did yesterday did. Falling over at any opportunity, and Samba did his usual trick of running straight into the keeper at freekicks to stop him. And, who gets punched in the chest and falls over? If it hurts you'd double up, butnot roll around like a fanny. Barton got a lot of plaudits for failing to rise to the assault of Karl Henry, but personally I honestly don't expect him to do that every game. Oh, and they are shithouse tactics. Just like diving to get a player sent off in my opinion. Yeah you pick on weaknesses to win, but to intentionally get a player sent off is out of order.

You know what, for all his baggage, I'm GLAD we have him. When we play knobheads like Blackburn and Wolves, they try and get him sent off, but most don't. At the Arsenal game, he came out of the tunnel with his arm round Nasri's shoulder having a chat, shook his hand before the match, and there were no afters at all, when everyone was expecting a battle.

i think some people are over reacting on here, hes a dirty little c*nt no worse than keane, savage or scholes on a football pitch,3 game ban should do

And all 3 of those players get shitloads of abuse too.

Plus let's not forget the stuff off the football pitch.

Don't think anyones defending the punch, uncalled for. But

Saying things like it's not that bad, or Pedersen deserved it is defending it.

I disagree. Nobody here has condoned it, or said he was right to do it. A few of us have said why we think he did it, and that its understandable at times, but still wrong.

It's a shame he does stupid things like this as he's a real talent, would like him here if he could rein in the stupidity.  Always think of this though when I think of him which was a very classy act.

So no attempt to understand the reason can be made, or its defending it? Nobody has said he was right to do it because Pedersen wound him up. It's still wrong. Anyone that has said Pedersen deserves it said it because they don't like him, same as if it happened to Gary Neville.

That was just meant to be an attack on Pedersen. The tactics he employed were out of order, as well as Barton's reaction. The I don't expect him not to react every game bit was because well, nobody is gonna not react when it happens so often to you. Wasn't tring to defend him, just have a go at Pedersen.

Agree to disagree.

Just the way he is. Whenever I see him, he's always trying to wind someone or other up, and is having a bit of a slanging match. And it all started from him punching the ball into the back of the net for the winner at St. James a couple of years back.

Barton's a stand up guy really.... ;)

Always had time for him to be honest. You can't take a bad temper out of somebody. Unfortunate but that's just the way he is, regardless of how he's matured.

Brilliant from the FA again. Some c*nt watches MOTD and straight away he's writing the letter to Newcastle with match ban and some random figure thrown in after it. Fucking stupid c*nts

as for the part about the stuff off the pitch, that should be kept off the pitch and dealt with by the courts or whoever not by the (inept)fa

So Cole's tackle was worth a 3 game ban but Barton punching someone in the chest is only a 1 game ban?

Gee I can't think of a single reason why they would want to get that out of the game....

You can break someones leg with a two footed tackle and your feet off the ground. Cole's tackle wasn't really dangerous and he made no contact with the player

Pedersen won't be spending too much time in hospital after last nights "punch".
