I dont think they've ever showed the u18 away games regaurly. Can only really remember United and Everton away being shown. Part of it might be clubs not wanting them being televised along with the cost.

2-O up at half time with goals off rebounds by Stewart and Hill.  I see Zak Gilsenan is on the Blackburn bench.  He was supposed to be the next ... (Australian or Irish?) Messi when he came to the Uk from Barca’s academy aged about 13 or 14.  I thought he joined us, but was never heard of again.  These tags at ridiculously young ages quite often don’t do the kids any favours

To be fair it was more or less self-anointed with him, pushy parents trying to hype him up at every opportunity

Leading 6-1 in the u-18 game against Blackburn into last few mins.

Final score 7-1.

A game of braces, 3 players scored 2.

Not on LFCTV for some reason, despite being a home game. Down 1 nil already though.

Wonder if it's linked to not wanting or able to show games at 3pm on a Saturday? Anyone know?

U-23 result was the total opposite to the u-18, beaten 4-0 by Spurs at home, not a brilliant start to season.

Bit shocking for the u23s to get battered 4-0 but I suppose there are some factors at play here.
Even though we lined up with what we would consider a very strong attack, the likes of Brewster, Elliot, Jones and Kent have rarely played together. They all came up from different underage groups so it’s no surprise that they lacked chemistry.
It’s also a very young group for u23, and the back line in particular showed that. It’s definitely going to be a transition year for them.

In brighter news, the u18s are off to a flyer. Again, a very fresh and young group (only Cain and Clarkson started from last years youth cup win), but some impressive talent coming through. We have 2 full backs who are youth internationals (Norris and Quansah) who love to get forward. Our new strike partnership of Layton Stewart and James Balagizi will look to exceed the Duncan and Glatzel double act of last season. Stewart was prolific during preseason and they both scored two yesterday in the league opener. Balagizi is tall and athletic, while Stewart has instinctive movement and finishing ability.
The aforementioned midfield partnership of Cain and Clarkson will be our driving force though. Both are solid in the tackle and possess great vision. Cain was a double digit assist man last year in his first season with the group, and he is also a deadly free kick taker.
Going to be exciting to track the development of the new boys this year.

Just cancelled my subscription. Not much point in paying when the youth matches aren't on.

Hoever wasn't in the squad for the games against Oldham and Tottenham. Should we read anything into this? Maybe being prepped for some game time with the first team? Super Cup on Wednesday?

Presumably he’ll be in the 23 man squad but thought Brewster would be too

I wouldn't be surprised.  Considering how much of a low priority this game must be, it being so early in the season and with so many key players getting back so late in pre-season, I wouldn't be surprised to see a mostly changed side.  Give everyone early match time and get some of the kids on the bench.

Just seen highlights from U 18s on the LFC site. Stewart looks a good striker, Clarkson still a good passer and Cain got a sweet left peg. There is a schoolboy Balagizi who we have had from City who scored two. Looks skilful, good height and physique.

Him and Elliot were kitted out being the bench Friday night so they were in the 23 man squad.

He is behind Trent and Gomez at the moment at least. I would be massively surprised he barely got a run out in the pre season games never matter games that matter. This is a chance to win a trophy, it is not a low priority game, and Klopp will put out a strong side no doubt.

I emailed Chelsea about it the other day. They said nothing had been decided. It looks like it might just be a turn up and keep quiet type of thing.

New contract for Curtis Jones, great news
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Are these ticketed? Sorry I’ve tried Googling a number of different ways and I’m not finding anything useful.

You can get tickets through Chelsea yes. There wont be an allocated Liverpool block/end though. You can go but you'll probably need to be quiet whilst there.
