Simplest way to get to Wigan from Liverpool is just get the train to Wigan North Western and take the short walk to the ground, Dont fall in that river/canal or whatever it is tho ha.
They say our days are numbered were not famous anymore..

What's the chances of this going to 2 credits from last season?

Started at 4 then went to 2 in the initial sales last year.

Do you think it will be a sale for members who recorded one away game?

Thank you!

Coming from Huddersfield so will need to change at Manchester, thinking about just spending the morning/afternoon there and getting to Wigan around 4. Or is Wigan OK for boozing and worth getting there at lunchtime for the day?

Wigan is a good place to drink. Plenty of bars and boozers on king street, directly across from wallgate station (which is the other station up the road from north western station)

Ground is a 10 minute walk.

That'll probably do us then - is there a specific pub for away fans?

Found this on the web;

"The traditional pub for away fans visiting the DW stadium is the Red Robin, which is only a few minutes walk away from the ground opposite the Cinema Complex."

Also gets a mention in the OP, probably the best bet for a few bevvies and a song before the game.

Someone mentioed a wetherspoons in Wigan town centre, apparently the Red Robin gets too busy for a bevvie, spend more time queuing than anything else.

Avoid the red robin, it's on it's own next to the stadium and gets rammed. Go to weatherspoons or the Berkeley square in the town centre (can't miss them) Berkeley square has been a popular away pub in the past. There's a taxi rank 30 seconds down the road, it's about £4 to the stadium.

Turn right as you come out of the train station and walk up and you cant miss these 2 boozers

Sounds like the Spoons then the Berkeley will be the places to go. Think about 7 of us getting the train from Huddersfield, having one in Manc - should be in Wigan for midday.

1 minute walk..1st berkley and further up 100yds is weatherspoons..turn right (north western) out of station (or left if its the old station-wigan wallgate...both stations face each other)

Me and 2 of my mates were hoping to go to the wigan game but unfortunately fell short as we only had 1 previous away game on our membership cards last season. We are still going to head to Wigan for a few pints and a good day out as we have a hotel booked to stay over for the night in wigan. Hoping to get 3 tickets before hand or even on the day, maybe abit optimistic :P

Get straight in the exchange thread when it goes up, you never know.

If not, try and get home tickets, they never sell out at home, do they? Think 3 of my pals have home end tickets.

Cheers mate, was considering the hospitality in the away end but wigan are charging £150 so give that a miss! How does the exchange work on here? Is it not just open for season ticket holders?

Was planning on going to the Red Robin when we arrive in Wigan but don't fancy the waits queuing up for pints. Is the Berkeley the best shout so?

Apparently there's a decent street with a couple of pubs along it for away fans, around a minutes walk from the train station.

Correct. King street. There's between 10-15 bars and pubs on that Main Street. The Berkeley is the one at the top.

correct-swerve the red robin and head in weatherspoons early and berkerly a touch later...
