Parked in the street about a mile away from the ground......was parked on the road with the ATS automaster on but firther up by the bridge where the road narrows and the park....was in a side street...got away fine after the game and was home very quickly...

Well worth parking that bit further away IMO......

Best pubs are at the station, but if you want to save yourself a few bob, about a 10 minute walk from the station under the bridge is an alcohol zone where you can take some cans, not advised to get home end tickets as ther was 70s style crowd trouble when we scored in the wigan end
You what lad?!

Get back to libpool and stay there.
Wigan doesnt have hotels as no-one wants to stay there.

Youll see why  ;)

Would recommend parking in Alker Street or one of the surrounding streets which is about a 15min walk from the ground.

Avoided both the pre and post-match traffic and didn't have to pay for the privilege.

went the red robin last night, packed with reds, quite easy to get served, good atmosphere, also went for one at the sports bar by the away end where the coaches park.

If I haven't gone completely mad - wigan is on the 21st and villa is on the 18th..
It’s not even about individuality, it’s about the team. Our game was based on his controlling of the tempo. Squeeze the life out of the opposition and then strike. That is our game. Like a pack of pythons.

sorry mate. moving fixtures is outside my area of responsibility..

if you however let us know if its the villa game or the wigan game you're going to , can hopefully assist a wee bit..

take a look at www.nationalrail.co.uk

Take a look at london-manchester or london-crewe and then manchster-wigan or crewe-wigan. should be around 35-40 pounds.. (london-wigan gives you stupid prices..)

Depends on your schedule and other plannes, but you stuggle to get to london after the match without taking a 6-7 hours on the trains/buses as far as i can see..

Other option could be trying to get a lift on here or if there should be coaches going south.. wednesday wigan just before x-mas is not category A in interest so to speak..

If possible, i'd have gone to liverpool after the match and taken a train in the morning..

Hi, wondering if its actually possible to get the 11.03 train back to Liverpool after this game. Game will finish at roughly 10pm. There won't be a lock-in will there?

random question. do you think this game (21st of Dec. at night) has much of a chance of postponement? are there any credible reports about december forecast? i'm aware wigan don't have the greatest pitch going round either. hope this isn't an absurd thing to ask!

It's 3 weeks away - would you trust a long-term forecast that far ahead? Always a chance but we won't know until a few days before. Autumn has been one of the mildest on record.

Avoided the sarcasm route I were about to use: Mapquest brings it up at 42 miles or just under an hour in the car.
