Annoying the January UK date, for season 2 the episode was up on Nowtv the same day as the Italian airing.

Apparently someone's had a crack at translating subs i've got a feeling these wont be very well done though.

I/We  pay extortionate prices every month for SKY TV but they wont deliver on one of the best shows out there.  Its a SKY PLC show too.

Looks like Sky is protecting it's investment to stop the show being illegally downloaded outside Italy.

I'm also betting a large chunk of the fans in the UK never watched any  episodes of season 2 on Sky Atlantic.

I don't know why they don't do something like GoT and TWD and just show an episode(s) a day after it's shown in it's host country.

Cheers mate. I don't want to sound ungrateful or anything here but the subtitles are bit dodgy to be honest. I've just watched the first 10 mins and the subtitles don't make much sense in parts.

I think the Neapolitan dialect is very distinct to the city itself and probably needs a translator who is not just fluent in Italian but also very familiar with the city dialect or at least the Southern Italian nuances .

Think I might wait until January unless a decent torrent comes out

Antonio DI Natale is from Naples and has retired from footy now so maybe he fancies earning a few quid translating for us

Its definitely not 100% perfect subtitles but you can make out 90% of whats going on.

Helps if you remember the back story and the context of what they are "trying" to say when the subtitles are not correct.

I guess this will be the best to go around unless someone uploads the actual Sky Atlantic screening with Sky's english subtitles.

And you're right about the Neapolitan dialect - I have a friend from Verona and he has no idea what the fuck they are saying haha, he needs english subtitles too.

Back in the 1990s Dutch police had a phone tap on Curtis Warren's phone as part of a cocaine importation investigation in the Netherlands. The well educated fluent English speaking Dutch police couldn't understand a word of what Warren and his cohorts were on about. They had to import a couple of scallywag Scouse coppers to translate from Scouse to the Queen's Dutch English.

Gomorrah and Naples has that Croxteh/Norris Green vibe (not all of those areas are endemic drug dealing haunts, to be fair).
