Poor Allison looked in tears at one point. I felt bad for him, especially cause I believed he was on his way here- seeing the links were so strong and believable at that point.

I think it was a combination of the Anfield factor, our counter-pressing and the fact he had interview-nerves. In front of his future employers and future supporters and he didn't want to put a foot wrong.

You really, really don't need to go all the way back to the 90s to find examples of a goalie losing you games. There was quite a major example of this in May of last year, you may remember.

That huge spontaneous outpouring of relief and joyous emotion with everyone of us baying out his name following that save was one of Anfield's greatest ever fandom moments - and that's speaking as one who goes back even prior to our '61/'62 promotion season..
