Wish I had bloody well known - shit me right up that did when it was explained what I'd done  :o

Shows that they aren't as bad as people make out though. It had an Egg Sac, you handled it and it declined to bite you.

Full marks to the spider there I think.

There pretty much all harmless.
Live in Australia and we have tones of huntsmans, dont even bother putting em outside, love em.

Even have em in the car sometimes, not usually on the inside - but its happened... - but when they run across the windscreen whilst driving you shit urself :D

Once my sister went to get in her car, put her hand on the handle, screamed, jerked it back turned out there was a huntsman under it! :D
Rafa tried to buy everyone.  :)

Piss off with your macho stories! :D

Aren't they responsible for quite a few crashes each year? I read they climb into the cars when parked up and then pop out of the air con vents or from behind the sun shield things. Fuck that!

What's all this about "putting them outside" and removing them "humanely"??

One of those horrible fuckers gets in my room and it gets flattened with the biggest book or shoe I can find. That's fucking it. No chance I'm attempting to pick one up, glass or no glass.

This, a million times over. How anyone can claim to be scared of spiders yet then get close enough to be able to do the old glass and card routine is beyond me.  :o For me it's a shoe or book from across the room, I can't even go near with the hoover tube for fear of them running up it.

I'm coming out in sweats just reading this thread, there's no way I'm clicking on the pics or You Tube clips! Anything bigger than a money spider and I've been known to have asthma attacks and turn into a complete sweating shaking wreck. I once rang my mum when I was at uni - about 200 miles from home - cos I was so scared when I saw a huge spider in the bathroom. Quite what I thought she could do I've no idea but it seemed a good idea at the time. :-[

;D See now there are some who would think the opposite of the spider, i.e. "Wtf, like, spider dudette, you missed your chance! Now he's gonna grow up and be something nasty, like, oh, I dunno, a RAWK mod......." and diss the 8-legged freak for not taking the kill shot.

Spiders are evil. End of. And the only good spider is a dead spider...even then their old skins/dead ones still like disgusting. Don't know why/how they were ever created/evolved.

It gets its "name" because they are known to allegedly disembowel camels and live inside their stomachs for warmth.

There are a lot of bollocks stories about camel spiders and I think that could well be one of them.

I've got another poster off here convinced that she's going to watch Eight Legged Freaks when she's next round at mine, she hates spiders but she's determined to watch it after me telling her that although it's a film about Giant Spiders, it's more of a comedy than anything.

You should give it a try :wave

Ok I'll give it a try. You might not believe this, but if there's a picture of any spider on the front of the dvd, it's going to be a struggle picking it up never mind taking it home.
You sure it's just a few bits that will make me cringe : )
