I'm going to get this later in Asda when I'm in the optician's.  I'm convinced.

Convinced about the show, or how good Asda are at optometry?

Do you know how much they are selling it for? Might get one myself if it is reasonably priced.

Such rave reviews from distinguished RAWK-ites have made me think it must be good.

I shall report back.

It is fantastic. Near comedy perfection, in my eyes. Immaculately constructed down to the finest detail.

Is anywhere in town doing cheap Curb or Arrested Development dvds? Birthday money is burning a hole in my wallet, so far it's only been used for a few rolls of insulation tape and a Subway.

Will pick up Arrested Development Season 1 in Asda later, but been ages since I've bought something like that.

Watching the frist series at the minute - absolutely fantastic.  Just watched the episode about spring break where Gob sinks the ship to impress the girls with low self esteem.

I finally got round to getting this.

Seasons 1 and 2, pricey but it'll get me through my revision breaks.

I'm up to the episode Justice Is Blind, with the blind prosecutor.

This is genius. I've just laughed so much at the bible scene it's actually hurting, and Tobias is incredible.

Haven't come across this thread before..Has to be the best comedy EVER..

One of my favourite moments has to be when Tobias audition's for the firesale commercial.."The burning..It burns me!!!  Amazzzzzziiiiing Grace!!

I'm laughing just thinking about it!!

"Illusion Michael!! A trick is something a whore does for money"(Then he realizes he's in a room full of kids)......"or Candy!!"

Seen the first season. It's good in parts. Some lovely characters obviously....

Much the same style as "scrubs"

Please don't compare this show to the distinctly average Scrubs...Man I'd love to punch that Zach Braff!!  His cameo in Arrested was good though!!

Anyone who owns or has seen the first season noticed too the actress who plays Martha changes?

Brilliant show none the less. The bleeps are irritating though, should've been on HBO. ;D

Season One is now finished with.

That was incredible.

Totally defies the classic 'wacky situation, obvious punchline, minor twist, happy ending' formula.

Every joke is a continuation of something. I love the guy with the freedom sign popping up every few episodes. The attention to detail is absolutely unreal, I've started looking in the background of shots for non-obvious visual gags now.

I can see this being the kind of thing I will watch and watch. Let's face it, this shits all over My Hero.

I love how they end each episode with the "next time on arrested development"..But rarely does what is said actually happen. Yet they get away with it! Genius!!

I love the little digs they have at the Intelligence of the American viewers for not watching the show..

I can see this being the kind of thing I will watch and watch. Let's face it, this shits all over My Hero.

Oh you will, believe me..And every single time you'll find something new. It's almost nourishing. There's not a single show that rewards you as much as Arrested does..

Wait til you see jokes carried over between entire series  ;)

Oh and you still have Bob Loblaw and Dr Tobias as the world's first analyst/therapist to come.

The second series is one you'll have to watch a second time straight after the first, just to see the genius foreshadowing of a major event.

And yes, Rob Jones, the background is almost as amusing as the foreground stuff in this show.

Oh, and Scrubs is very good, but not in this class. Frankly, nothing is.

I love Curb, and it is genius in it's own way.

But not anywhere near as many laughs-per-minute, and not the visual overload of humour you get with AD.

But yes, Curb runs it close.

If you like Tobias, download David Cross's stand-up routines. I think there are two or three online at teh usual places. You want to hear an anti-american - or rather anti-Bush - comedian? This is it. And it's funny.

'Isn't that her rape horn?'

'More like her starter's pistol...'

Watched a few eps of S2 last night, for the 3rd or 4th time- have to say I was still spotting sight gags I'd missed before (some of them pause-button quick, like the director of Tom Jane's junkie pic or Steve Holt's third yearbook caption, others recurring sight gags like the gay cop who is always the baton-wielder also being the putative father of Maggie's baby). It's so densely layered it bears repeated viewings, as others have said. And it's hard to think of a series more perfectly acted too; GOB, Buster , George Michael, Tobias and others are so well written and performed it is impossible to imagine anyone else in the role.

Speaking of visual gags, I always love it when a scene goes on for a couple of of minutes, and the characters walk off...and then Tobias appears out of the blue in his Blue Man Group make-up camougflaged in the background somewhere.
