Is there any word on whether they'll have to close the existing upper tier during construction or whether they'll be able to build behind, like with the Main Stand, and remove the existing upper tier and finsh everything off during the close season?

I imagine that'll get moved to '96 Avenue'.

Yes possibly Craig or something of better quality for more daily use for both the club , residents and visitors to the park

Stand is pretty much identical external size to previously approved scheme, but with better internal configuration to increase capacity.

The outside looks good too especially if it can flow into the park but the fan zone will probably stay there , why not 61892 just to wind the blue brethren up  ;D

Because we're run by adults?

Looks like it may possibly shift to the corner between Main and Anny, or that's possibly the required parking we need to provide for TV, etc.....

Pic...

Looks like the plan at the minute is to keep the away fans on the main stand side but in both the lower and upper tiers.

Yeah there is a natural barrier in that corner in the lower tier, where as looks like the lower corner between Anny and Dalglish will be joined, so makes sense.

Answering my own question. Just listening to an exclusive interview RedMen TV got with Andy Hughes and he's said they hope it will run the same way as the Main stand with minimal loss of capacity.

Looks quality and at £60m funded through our own credit facilities it's doable within a few years as well. Anfield up to c.62,000 and a brand new state of art training ground. These owners aren't half bad

The Guardian says an 'internal' fan park in the stand. There'll be a lot of space in there without all the corporates.

There will be some corp areas (bar types) and some fan bars it seems. Not sure they'll have an internal fan park as that then prevents anyone who isn't sat in the Anny Rd from going.

Looks fantastic.

The upper tier looks quite steep.

Great again from FSG, they seem to have taken the same steps as they did with Fenway Park by increasing capacity gradually and making a fantastic job of it.

Surely they're just dismantling the upper tier?  It doesn't look like it fits in any way in those new renders.

It'll all be built behind like the new Main and then the upper tier will be dismantled in the summer and the stand completed then.

Be really interesting to see how they handle the lower tier. Notoriously a heavily restricted view section at the back.

But at this point they have enough credit in the bank to trust them.

Carillion did the work on the Main Stand. Obviously that wont be happening this time around. Wonder who will get the contract

It looks like it's on the same principle as the lapsed scheme with minimal if any overhang of the upper tier so no restricted views in the lower.

Pleasantly surprised that they've released images of the proposals at the start of the consultation period but it's not radically different from the approved scheme.

Likely to sail through planning Alan you reckon given it’s almost the exact same footprint etc as before?

You'd hope so. It looks like it's a bit wider but the depth going back into Stanley Park looks similar. I was looking at the Main Stand roof stanchions on Wednesday night trying to work out how they were going to get a larger capacity - I'm going to do a bit of sketching over the weekend to see what the differences are.

The objections are likely to be about transport before and after - it's really tight around the ground just after the game.

Very impressive though.

Finally some concrete news!

This is a good start. It looks like being just shy of 62k inside of Anfield. May be some very minor tweaks along the way like we had with the main stand development.

I wonder about electronic advertisement and is that a space in the middle for it. Can't tell, or this where the small bank of hospitality is?

The footprint behind is more or less the same. I like the look of the proposed stand. It's steep, has large banks of people together and the outside realm looks clean and contemporary. Maybe a large park café at the back there for everyone to use would be an idea to add in later. Could do with the wider Anfield having easier access to the City centre, and attracting workers to the area (office). That is outside the scope of the club though.

Hopefully in time (not 6-7 years) they will factor (thoughts on final designs) in phase 3 and then phase 4 a bit later. The Kop will be smallest stand soon. Maybe easier to do that first and then the SKD stand.

Interesting cheers

Sounds like the objections on transport are likely to have been heard albeit this will be a couple of thousand more people? Hopefully won’t stop the development

Interested in the planning for non footy....half expected the new design to cater for getting stage kit in more easily but doesn’t seem too. Didn’t they lift some over the stand in the past?

Also I see they mention American football...not sure I fancy that on the pitch seeing what it did to Wembley!

It'll all be built behind like the new Main and then the upper tier will be dismantled in the summer and the stand completed then.

It's a bit more complicated - the Main stand didn't have an upper tier - they just removed the roof and the back rows once the new roof was completed. The gap between the two was bridged by the middle tier after the old roof was demolished in the summer.

I'm sure they'll try and keep the upper tier open until the end of the season if possible.

I can really see the same design being used eventually to replace the Kop.
Doesn’t take a lot to thing of the New Annie Road stand with a single tier!!! And then the same roof configuration to the Main stand.
Would look incredible!!!

I'm sure answered before but is that it then? Are we there stuck at capacity? nothing else without major work outside the ground?
