I think 6th or 7th. If we got 3rd theres no other side I'd more like to see 4th than Newcastle. The fans deserve a bit of good fortune after the crap they've been through.

1) Man Utd
2) Man City
3) Spurs
4) Chelsea
5) Arsenal
6) Liverpool
7) Newcastle

That's how it'll finish, in my opinion.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Enjoyed watching them this season and have played quality football.

By the way it is shaping up and if we don't find our rhythm, they might finish above us. Champions League for them this season = no.

always liked newcastle and felt they deserved better, but reading their opinions on us, our team and kenny has changed my opinion of them, hope they drop away to be honest, not relegation, bottom half will do.
if you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best

I'll make two predictions of this...Carroll won't score 3 PL goals total for the rest of the year and we won't score 5 against any team all year.  We might still get CL football without either happening.

"Their"? A few idiots from who-knows-where posting shite on an Internet forum doesn't represent all Geordies you know. I get the impression that some people here have never actually met supporters of other clubs (aside from "global brands" like Man Utd and Arsenal) and yet still feel they have the authority to comment on and generalize sets of supporters, based on something they read on the Internet (or watched in "Green Street"? :P).

Apparently fee agreed for 10M Pounds.

I think the plan is to play both in a 4-4-2, he is the striker they always wanted. Now instead of Ameobi or Best, they'll have Cisse partnering Ba, or as deputy or rotation. A lot of attacking options for them.

Also read somewhere they may sign Aly Cissokho or Lyon this window as well....looks like Ashley is seeing his team is close to Europe, and wants to take the risk and see whether they can last the season

I know, pissing me off a bit to be honest.

Me and all mate, fucking cabaye 4mill, tiote 3mill, ba- free and papa demba cisse for 9 million euros thats some fucking scouting. to be honest it probably isn't even that great scouting most people know of these players probably with the exception of of tiote and fuck forgot to add ben arfa under 10 mill.

They just came up from the division a year ago and now look on the brink of europe with just down to good business.

I understand transition season's will take place but if you buy well and buy the players that you need it will mean you see results alot quicker. Look at juve they had a heck of a summer window and are probably the best team in serie a right now.

Papiss Cisse is an excellent player and for £10 million, it makes you wonder why we aren't even in the reckoning. Its not as if our forwards have been banging in the goals for fun. Ba and Cisse should make one helluva strike force between them. If we don't sign anyone in this window, I can see Newcastle finishing above us.

Fuck Me. Do we have scouts outside of England ?

I'm starting to think our scouts are sitting at home watching ESPN and Sky Sports all the time. For all of Comolli's reputed knowledge of the French market, Newcastle are making us look like fools with all their French-based signings for dirt-cheap prices.

im not as ill informed as you seem to presume, i mean your writing this on a forum, how can you presume what people or supporters any other fan has met or what forms the basis of their opinion,
that is my opinion on newcastle fans, and the large percentage of opinions ive read and from the supporters ive actually met (believe it or not), there seems to be a bitterness and disrespect towards our club

to be honest, we've nicked Carroll and Enrique off them. Two of their best players. One, a hometown boy who was seemingly stepping into Shearer's shoes with effortless ease and the other, the league's best left back. And to top it all, we're heavily being linked with Tiote. That's where all the anger stems from.

But credit should go to Pardew and the Newcastle scouting department. With a few shrewd buys and some sensible tactics, they're punching way above their weight. We should hang our heads in shame if they finish above us this season.

Wouldn't be surprised if they finished above us, their midfield is arguably better than ours and they have some decent strikers in Ba and potentially Cisse.

Great bit of business, with that fire power they'll have a great chance of a top 6 place. If they had a good defence they'd be dead certs to finish above us, they still might. Depressing.

Your King Kenny aint too popular "oop norf" simply because he f*cked things up whilst he was up here.

He signed 4 very good players I can think of off the top of me bonce. They were Shay Given, Didi Hammann, Gary Speed, and Nobby Solano.

He signed 3 other once great players that were well past their best when they joined Newcastle. They were John Barnes, Stuart Pearce and Ian Rush.

Some of the other signings KD made were a joke/absolute joke.
The French world cup winning centre forward Gooveryarch (sp), Carl Serrant, Des Hamilton, Gary Brady, Paul Dalglish (:D), Stephen Glass, Georgie Georgiadis,  Andreas Andersson, Brian Pinas (have spelt that one right!), Bjarni Gudjonnson, Lionel Perez, Paul Robinson, James Coppinger are some of the "gems" King Kenny dumped on the mags.

The likes of Alessandro Pistone, Nikos Dabizas, Andy Griffin, Temuri Ketsbaia, and John Dahl Tomasson were very average signings or signings that never worked out for one reason or another.

KD also sold a number of the crowd favourites during his time as manger of Newcastle and that my friend is why King Kenny of Liverpool is not also King Kenny Of Newcastle.

They'll finish above us, for all the money we spent, unfortunately we spent on crap signings while Newcastle were the ones really made true "MONEYBALL" signings. Watch them as they sell Ba and Cisse for as much money as Carroll in the next 2 years.

Dunno about finishing higher than you lot.
There aint too much difference in the quality of the 2 teams first choice eleven, Steven Gerrard aside, but squad wise, Newcastle are far weaker in my opinion. That said we do seem to have a few youngsters emerging through the ranks (Sameobi, Vuckic, Abeid, Yven Moyo) but only time will tell whether these lot are any good or not.

Am wondering (thinking aloud really) if Ashley has a sale lined up in the summer if he signs Cisse and also a much needed centre half and doesn't sell anybody seeing as the bearded owner of Virgin is rumoured to  to be taking a slight interest in football and perhaps NUFC seeing as he has just ploughed a few million into sponsoring them.
