Always had a soft spot for ~~Firenze~~ *derp* Fiorentina *derp* since their display for their manager after his wife's death. And this... helped. I'm a bit of an italiophile (my kids will probably be half italian) and Florence is a jewel of Europe. Hope all you lads who made it had a great time! Was in Rome until a few days before the game so I hope you had a great last taste of summer too!

No mate, read some of the comments from the lads who made the trip, they were very well treated
and got a great reception, it was a big deal for them to have the Reds in town and the banner was

I know what you mean. I love Italy as a whole but Florence is just my favorite city. I haven't managed to visit it yet (working on getting to study abroad soon) but the city and the people there seem like it is a really brilliant city. All around class

According to a match going Fiorentina fan on here, that whole Heysel celebration culture among their fans is a bit of a myth, and that the banner is a mark of genuine respect. He even posted a video of them singing 'Amo Liverpool' at a Milan game after Istanbul...
