I think he was right to cut those two, because they were acting the c*nt and wanted out, in addition to being nowhere near worth their wages. We'd be better off with them in the current squad but would be suffering in other ways. I just blame the board for not signing more players for what everyone could see was a paper thin squad.

You spent just shy of £150 million in the summer. That's fucking plenty enough to do a lot more with your squad  if you spend it wisely. I don't even think you spent that badly this summer [though you clearly overpaid for maguire by about 40m], the issue is you can't expect to turn the whole squad around in a single window - even klopp didn't do that. In theory, if you bolstered the defence in this window then keep lukaku and even sanchez if neccessary till you can replace the forwards. Or, sell those two and buy 2 forwards to replace them and sack off an 80 million spend on someone moderately better than what you have in slab head. It's typical of the completely bats arse way united approach everything now and from my point of view, it's fucking great.

This united squad rivals whatever the absolute worst iteration of our worst squad from the last 30 years was. Maybe the first season under Rodgers, or the latter season under Souness [the hodgson era was bad, but that was him, not the squad imo]. But it's not been underinvested in, it's just been invested in fucking terribly.

Older United fans will have seen them being shite for many years, but the newer generations must be in shock these days. Ferguson ruined them by giving them something they will never have again. I don't even think many of them appreciated it in the end either, but I bet they do now. sometimes, you can have something for so long that you just take it for granted, but when it's gone, you really, really feel it.

For me, they really needed the manager Ferguson handed the reigns over to to be the absolute right man. There needed to be a continuation of standards as far as possible. They went for Moyes. Now even my dog could have predicted what would follow. Since Ferguson they have fell off a cliff. They handed over to a man as far out of his depth as Oleh is today. As delicious as it all is, it was also totally predictable. Like every dog, they've had their day. They will get back on the rails at some point, but it will not be anything like the Ferguson era.

For the moment, Schadenfreude hasn't tasted so sweet.
