Is Topley the guy with the mullet? Huge loss for England, if so.

Yeah. The Ian Marshall tribute act. Not sure anyone else has enough time to cultivate one.

Willey, as another left armer is maybe most like for like replacement but don’t fully trust him (no jokes please).

Stindies are in a bit of bother

Will they be out if they lose here, having lost to Scotland already?

Just clocked that England, Australia and NZ are in the same group with only two going through so could be tight.

I think they'd need Zimbabwe  to beat Scotland in the last game and then batter Ireland in their last game. Still not sure that would be enough.

Zimbabwe are making a mess of this anyway - 82/6 needing another 70 odd from 50 odd balls.

Winner take all in the matchups for Friday. Ireland v West Indies in one match, Scotland v Zimbabwe in the other. The winners advance to the Super 12. That is, if the matches happen! Rain is in the forecast. If the entire day is wiped out, then it'll be Scotland and Zimbabwe who advance.

Netherlands chasing 163 to beat and knock out Sri Lanka

It's a slow pitch though and they're 29/1 after 4 to probably won't win

Side note - Can anyone play for Netherlands? They have players from England, Australia, South Africa, Tonga and normally just a couple of players born in the Netherlands.

So Sri Lanka and the Netherlands qualify and go into Groups 1 and 2 respectively. Group 1 has the potential to be very tricky if the Windies end up finishing second in Group B.

Group 1

Afghanistan
Australia
England
New Zealand
Sri Lanka
Group B runner-up

Group 2

Bangladesh
India
Pakistan
South Africa
Netherlands
Group B winner

Let’s see what happens when good teams join in but low scoring games have been the order of the day so far. I know they’re big yards in Australia so maybe that doesn’t help. 2020 tournament was quite dull, so hopefully this sees some runs at some point.

Stunning performance. Into the Super 12s we go. Great to see that there's at least one Stirling retaining it's value during this time of upheaval

Zimbabwe will be gutted if they don’t win this. Scotland can barely hit it off the square. Shouldn’t be chasing more than 150.

There’s a reason why such an astute cricket pundit as Anywhichwayucan picked him in his Draft team all those years ago.

I know he’s probably played most of his games against Amazon drivers, carpenters and pharmacists but he’s 5th all time in T20i runs now.

You know that cricket is quite upper class when it's pharmacists rather than postmen that he faces in T20 matches.

Kiwis are off to a rollicking start. Important to keep the pedal down. Things have a tendency to grind to a halt when Williamson is in. Conway looks in good touch and Allen was smoking it.

Good second to last over from Starc. 190 more likely now.

Ouch. Good shot for 4 of last ball. Conway has been great.

It’s a competitive score but could’ve looked at 210-220 at one point. Williamson killed momentum for that though

Afghanistan 55-2 after 10 overs

Will need to go some from here to set England a tough score you'd feel. Especially as there doesn't seem much turn there for the Afghanistan spinners.

they're not even going at a run a ball either. the chase could be over fairly quickly if buttler and hales get going.
