Any idea when the City game will be played? Its the weekend between CL round and International break (with England playing on Thursday), so can I absolutely rule out Friday/Monday night kick-off?

Definitely rule Monday out

I suppose if we both play Tuesday in champions league they could make a thing of a Friday match but highly unlikely

I can't see a situation where it isn't 4.30 Sunday.

We won't both be playing Tuesday, we're playing different nights in Europe cos Spurs and Chelsea won't be playing on the same night.

It's the biggest game that weekend by far. I'm with Phil, with one of us playing Wednesday night it makes 4.30 on the Sunday far more likely.

Would it still apply if they make one play at Home and one Away each match day - I'm sure that is what happened to the Milan teams in the past

Cheers, Saturday or Sunday will do nicely. Can imagine Southgate would like to have his key players as fresh as possible for the visit of mighty Monte Negro so he´d probably prefer LFC v City being played on Saturday but I doubt he´ll have any say in it.

I'm hoping the City game will be on Saturday at 5.30pm, we'll have a great atmosphere for that time. Sky and BT both realise the draw of Friday/Saturday night matches over Sunday afternoon - so I think they'll go with Saturday 5.30pm KO. Anyways, fingers crossed.

Anyone know when the official announcement is due? Should be within the next two weeks?

Quoting from this page: https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/358833-liverpool-fixture-changes-october

Quote
The Reds’ trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United will now kick off at 5.30pm BST on Saturday October 19, with Sky Sports to show the game live.

This match is subject to change to 4.30pm on Sunday October 20, depending on Champions League group stage scheduling.

Since we're not playing in the CL until the following Wednesday, I suspect this means that Sky will want the United game moved to the Sunday, otherwise why would they have said this?

Palace v City is the current Sunday 4:30 game that weekend, so I suspect they were waiting to see when City were playing. City are playing the Tuesday after anyway so looks like they'll be swapped round.

I've been looking to try to sort travel for Villa away and I'm pretty sure it'll have to be on Saturday 2nd November, just not sure of kick off time. We play Genk in the CL the following Tuesday which means it can't be Sunday. And if we get past MK Dons we'll be playing the 4th round of the League Cup the Wednesday before which rules out Friday.

That's virtually a certainty. Sky will choose it, and will want it in their prime slot.

Any chance of Leicester getting moved since the CL game is on Wed 2nd?

Hopefully not as I bought advance train tickets back in early august

Today was the approximate date given. Although they've often been late in the past, they have been earlier than expected a couple of times recently
