I really don't think Stoke thought we'd play like this with our wingers cutting in instead of using the tiny width of the pitch. We're playing well, need a goal however.

31 Waves of Liverpool attacks amount to not very much and then a free for Agger. Henderson swings it in and Stoke clear.

Wingers firing balls into Stokes CBs for Carroll wouldn't work imo. Stoke's defenders are strong and big - they also learn to go down easily which tends to fool the ref and nullify Carroll. Kenny done good.

Wow Carroll manages to keep 3 Stoke defenders at bay and somehow the ball gets to Maxi...the ball then gets to Kelly on the left who cuts in and absolutely smashes it down low....Sorensen saves

37 Kelly cuts inside and lashes one with the left, zeroing in on the corner but saved well. Down the other end, Reina saves near post. All go here.

Stoke playing dirty. They have a corner and the ball gets hit over....Stoke attacker/defender holds one of our players back and doesn't allow him to go for the ball.....ref doesn't see it. Disgraceful football.

Quite bizarre. Sorenson clears skyhigh and wide and Coates, expecting the ball to go out over the sideline, robbed by Walters who advanced and found Jones in the centre, who stoops to head in.

to be honest our CBs should have covered and got to the ball before Jones was allowed to get to it. Jones pretty much got a free header to it.

Coates has been playing fairly well imo. He made an error (as any young defender might) and we suffered from it. At the end of the day Coates cocked up, but the defeners in the middle should have covered Jones a bit better than they did - he pretty much got a free header. At least he didn't give a peno and/or get a red. Looks a good prospect, but it does show that we need to a) get a starting CB and b) play Coates more.
