The joys of an inkjet printer, it's sometimes/usually cheaper to just buy a new printer than to replace the cartridges. You'd be better off looking into a laser printer, it'll work out cheaper in the long run and last a lot longer - maybe something like a Brother L2750 or a Canon MF743?

I thought Laserjet meant it was a laser ?

Any road, thanks for the recommendations, Canon seems like a good shout.

It's an inkjet (agree you should look at a laser if you're doing higher volume stuff) but I went with this one in the end - https://www.canon.co.uk/printers/pixma-ts7450/ and really pleased with it, very smooth setup and happy with quality. Got a decent deal on Black Friday so can't grumble.

I'm not judging which is better, just wondering why multiple people were saying it was an inkjet when it is clearly a laser!

I called a couple of local places yesterday and one is a Brother rep and the other a Canon rep, so at least if it breaks they can look to repair. The retail places want more than buying online but I think its worth it as at present I cant even scan anything, which kind of stops me producing work in my tracks.

Currently choice between M1127C Cannon or 9570 Brother

Just work backwards! Check

https://www.stinkyinkshop.co.uk/

or

https://www.cartridgepeople.com/

for sensible priced cartridges and then see how much the printer is

FUCK

put simply each replacement cartridge is about 80% of the price of the printer

both seem a bit of a muchness but the Brother appears to be cheaper on it, but not by much

I am now the proud owner of a Brother MFC 9570.

Its brilliant how these days connecting it to the laptop takes seconds.

Thanks for everyones comments.
