If you think that dream of not having studied for a school exam will go away as you get older, you're wrong.
I've been out of school for decades, and I had one last night.
I am in college. It is near the end of the semester. Several deadlines imminent in the next couple of days. I go to a class where there is an oral examination of a book we were supposed to have read. Everyone is prepared and answering questions. The professor is, for some reason, a coworker from 20 years later (no idea why -- isn't it strange how that happens?). Anyway, I calculate that I'm not going to be able to bluff my answer, so I simply tell her I didn't read the book. She tells me to leave the room. I walk out humiliated as everyone stares at me.
I then walk up a hilly street in that city (which I haven't been on in years). My intention is to go to another building to prepare for another exam. I reach the intersection of Main St., which I need to cross. A crowd wants to cross the street with me, but we can't. The street is flooded and I won't be able to cross it without going through the water. I stand there cursing myself that I keep doing this to myself. If I had prepared earlier I would not be facing these problems.
I then wake up. *sigh*
