Do you just not pay for things?
Why is it "wool" to own a wallet?
To be honest, not even we understand this one entirely.
Maybe it's not considered "hard" to carry your money round in an item of clothing specifically designed for that feature.
Either way, owning a wallet is a bizarre faux pas in certain parts of the city for reasons that would leave most people confused.
Speaking to The Times in an interview, Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher was asked if he'd ever done anything "flash" that got him ribbed by his mates from Bootle.
He said: “I remember I got a wallet once and got slaughtered for that.”
While anyone else might be picturing a fancy designer wallet that would attract a bit of ridicule, it was literally just a wallet.
Carragher told the interviewer: “Nah, just a normal wallet. Where I’m from, you carry money in your pockets, and I got slaughtered by my mates. I’d never had a wallet before and they thought I was trying to be someone I’m not. I got rid of it. Never had one since.”
