Five is the requirement. Probably need to give the lad a pay rise. He's worth it or he isn't.

4 in the appeals process (i.e. doesn't make the required international caps). 5 points in the secondary examination.

These are only targets, if a player reaches them they can still not be recommended for a work permit but it's likely they will be.

Cheers, guys.  :thumbup

Can you please clarify your original statement why you think the new system is more liberal than the exceptional talent clause? I would like to hear your explanation.

I have already posted it above.

Quote
If the player does not meet the above points based system review, there is a secondary examination under which if the player scores 5 points or more, the panel may recommend that an application is granted. Points can be scored if, for example, the player has played in the final qualification rounds of the Champions League, Europa League or the Copa Libertadores within the last 12 months and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes. The review at this stage is more flexible meaning that the panel can take into account the circumstances if no transfer fee is payable (perhaps because the player has reached the end of his contract) or if the player satisfies some but not all of the automatic criteria.

So, given the points in the secondary examination are clearly described in the documents and not just the paragraph you selectively copied and pasted - can you point out where playing in the youth international sides leads to points please?

But you haven't answered the question. Why is that more liberal?

But you haven't answered the question. Why is that more liberal?

Its certainly clearer, fairer & removed the subjective aspect but not more liberal.

Quote
“The old system meant roughly half the players coming from non-European countries were getting in through an appeals system where something like 80% of all appeals were successful. The future won’t be like that.

“It is key to note that if you applied the new system retrospectively across the last five years we estimate that 33% of the players who gained entry under the old system would not have been granted a work visa under the new system.

“That means that over five years there would have been 42 fewer non-European players playing in the Premier and Football Leagues across that time as a result of the change.”

If you see the actual number of football players who were granted an UK work permit under the exceptional talent rule, you will understand why the secondary examination rule is more liberal.

How many footballers is that? And what does that have to do with the secondary examination?

Why what are the two numbers for players who were granted work permits under both conditions?

Word on the street, he's impressed his coach at Hertha Berlin:

"Speaking to German publication Bild, Dardai admitted that he had contacted general manager Michael Preetz to push for a loan move for Allan.
“I told the manager that I would very much like to see Allan in our team and that I would love to work with him,” Dardai explained.
“For a 19-year-old he is bright, has vision, energy and game intelligence.
“He has responded very quickly even with turnovers, and is incredibly fast in action.
“[He’s] a really good guy, and he has also a tremendous shot.”

I think he'll get the move.

Really exciting time.  This lad has a hell of a lot of potential and if we can get him over that permit hurdle, would be great to see how he progresses.

Given we signed him for 500k, his wages must be fairly negligible in today's terms, unless he signed a new and improved contract I don't see why we wouldn't cover his salary in its entirety, as long as he gets his move and chances to play and develop. The Bundesliga is perfect for him.

The FA just want to protect & maximise game time for home grown player. Wages do play a huge part now though as can get you 2 or 3 appeal points depending on players wages in relation to the squads.

Great news. The kid is obviously very talented, and he should get decent playing time at Hertha, with them being in the Europa League.
