........is it best to pay the 'mind your car' kids before? or after?........
I thought I had covered this in an earlier post.......

" (And don't tell the kid you'll pay him after the match because "you have no change")  They aren't thick, they have to live on their wits in L4 ".

They laugh at me because I'm different.
I laugh at them because they are all the same.....

you tease.............

I usually leave my 'motor' in the hands of a delightful young bluenose and his mates

reminds me of the apocryphal tale (from Keegan's autobiog I think) where he's parked up near the stadium, gets approached by a young lad who asks him for some money to mind the car. Keegan responds that it's ok, there's a dog in the back, to which the lad responds - yeah, but can he put out fires?

Try parking near Sandhills station and getting the soccerbus, if you can be arsed waiting in the long queue for the bus after the match.

If your staying in the city centre, you might want to forget the car and  just go to Central station/Moorfields and ask for a "ticket to anfield" or a Saveway, both will give you a return train ticket and a return ticket on the soccerbus for ~£4

Going to the Blackburn game, my first game at Anfield, can someone tell me some good secure places I can park, that will also allow a quickish getaway?

I always park at Goodison. It's a tenner, but I know the car is going to be ok and although it's a bit of a drama getting out, it's nothing compared to what it used to be like when I parked at the school on Walton Breck Rd. Used to be looking at at least an hour to get onto the M62.

Agree with this.
I park at Gladwys St school just behind Goodison, but there are plenty here ... £10 a time.
Quick walk through the park and if you are sharpish at the end you will heading for the M62 / M6 avoiding a lot of the congestion.  :)

Best bet is this 1 Twelfth man, aim for goodison (cant miss it-closing down sale)  ;D .. park in the ass-end of goodison (£10-safe parking-rooney has left now) & a 10/15 min stroll across the park to the hallowed ground...
just follow the Red-Men... take a camera if you got a small 1... might as well if it's your first visit, sun shinning as you approach Anfield through the park, Shanks statue ect.... ... Enjoi..  8)

Also got the Lower Breck Sports Complex that charged £6 last season, 10 min walk from the ground and fairly quick to get away from as well. Or, if there's games on today, tell them that you've got a match and they'll let you in for free, park on the left and spend a minute or two around the changies before heading up to the ground.

Might do that on Friday actually, parked down Townsend Lane yesterday and the traffic was chocker. Always is though to be fair.

I've been parking on the street with "mind yer car" lads in a couple of different places for 15 years and I've never had any bother. Pay them after the game, £1 if we win, 50p if we lose.

If you look up the Pitz Soccer pitches then you can usually get in somewhere around there.
