got tickets for RATM touring with Run with Jewels in July.

Also, Dire Wolves - I Just Wasn't Made For These Set Times is a wild, fantastic ride

The new Tame Impala album is groovy. I think it will hit more when the weather gets nicer.

New Tame Impala and Destroyer are both incredible. The production on the new Tame Impala album is next level stuff.

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Going to see Bright Eyes in Birmingham in Sept, tickets went on sale today. Never seen them before, anyone know if they're any good live?

Tried to get tickets for Laura Marling as well but looks like they've sold out.

Must admit I'm not very into the new Tame Impala record. It's really well produced and all that, but just not engaging. I've enjoyed their first few albums, but the change of direction since really isn't for me.

I didn't see Bright Eyes 'back in the day' but did see Conor Oberst twice in 2017, when he was touring Ruminations (with Phoebe Bridgers supporting) and Salutations (Big Thief) and really enjoyed both occasions.  He's had a strong few years off the back of that double and the Better Oblivion Community Center project with Bridgers, and I'd expect good things.  I'll be sure to pick up a ticket for the Apollo when pay day comes around!

Only ever really paid attention to Marling's second record (which I liked) - not sure why I've never revisited.  Should do so.  If that Manchester gig falls during a quiet period, I could be tempted.  Good luck picking up a spare!

Album is boss. There's one track on there which is blatantly Lust For Life by Iggy though.

New releases from The Orielles and Soccer Mommy on Friday just gone - picked them up yesterday.  They put out two of my favourite records of 2018, so I'm looking forward to giving these some play this week.

Very much enjoying Bill Fay's Countless Branches but listening to the bonus tracks, some of his songs would have been lifted even more with a band.

This is on my list to listen too - I like his last one.

Hamilton released a solo song too, which is ace.

Any idea when Hamilton Leithauser will release his new album? Love that guy's voice.

The British prog rock band Genesis have announce that they will reunite for a series of UK stadium shows in November and December. “There’s a Genesis sound which is still there,” said guitarist Mike Rutherford. “I missed it, it’s nice to play it again."

There's one really duff track but all in all, my favourite album of the year so far is the new one by Peggy Sue. Lots of good turmultuous relationship lyrics and surf grunge vibes to add on to their mysterious harmonising vocal sound. Took me a while to think of what it reminds me of and it's that La Luz/Dum Dum Girls California hazy indie sound.

My friends, Nap Eyes and Destroyer was last night

I (mistakenly) thought Ryley had stolen the show as Nap Eyes guitarist but then Destroyer took the stage and my god, it was incredible. That drummer was something else. And all the new songs from the new album were  brilliant. Best show I've seen in a while.

Traditional techniques, new album from Stephen Malkmus. Sounds pretty folkie, as the name would suggest. Got to say I prefer the early stuff from Tame Impala. He's lost that psyche wig out shit and replaced it with a pop sound which doesn't hold my attention.

Really enjoyable gig tonight by some fella who I'd be able to recall immediately if I didn't have to reboot my new computer so many times. I'll put it in here: Daniel Blumberg

Cafe Oto are putting up live gigs free to view every night this week. Starts 8:30pm. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but it's something!

Monday night with Thurston Moore was brilliant, and the bits Thurston Moore wasn't involved with was the best. I don't want to ruin it. Maybe I have. BUT! Every night... a live gig... played in an empty room.
