« on: June 23, 2019, 03:38:52 pm »
Cracking series this.

Nods to DIrk Gently, Douglas Adam in General, Quantum Leap, Marvel/DC and some great situations, storylines and characters

Really enjoyed the series.

The characters in it are much more fleshed out than you usually get with SuperHero type series.

Well worth a watch!

Nah not for me. Umbrella was funny and original and the characters were so much better. Guerrero was only reason I stuck with Patrol.

Have they had the T-Virus 'accident' yet?

A Tory, a worker and an immigrant are sat round a table. There's a plate of 10 biscuits in the middle. The Tory takes 9 then turns to the worker and says "that immigrant is trying to steal your biscuit"

I quite enjoyed Good Omens and Tennant and Sheen's chemistry was great, but I still don't think that Pratchett's stuff translates properly to the tele as some other author's do.  Much prefer the books and find them a lot funnier than any of the adaptations to date.

As for Umbrella Academy, I didn't go in expecting to much, but really enjoyed it and think that it's a cracking series.  I liked Klaus, but the actor playing number five was the standout performance for me.  Absolutely nailed the old guy in a young body bit.

I’ve just finished the first episode.

No idea what is going on, but it’s wonderfully anarchic.

Excellent stuff.

Klaus is brilliant and the superpowers are very much just a sideshow to every one being fucked up.

I thought Five had destroyed all the remaining suitcases (bar one) in the first season, how where there so many knocking about at the end?

The Swedes may well rank up there as the most pointless characters ever.

Was a decent series, don’t think it quite hit the heights of the first though, only character I’m remotely arsed about now there’s no Hazel is Five. And that’s purely because Klaus’ story this season was a massive wet fart.

I'm assuming they just made more or they had a ton of them out in the field at the time.

I really like Klaus, he didn't develop much but I loved his story and he's always fun. I'm glad Ben got to chat to a few of his siblings before he went, just a shame he couldn't get a proper reunion with them all.

Nice that Vanya got to integrate with the group a bit too finally, I guess the fact that last time they shunned her she ended the world was a good motivator for the others to be nice.

Just watched the entire 2nd series.

Terrific.

Love the way that the narrative and plot and circumstances shift scene by scene, but still retain loads of character and interest.

Thought even the way it ended with the character arcs was brilliant.

Can't wait for season 3.
