Only watched the first three thus far, forcing myself not to binge.

Sort of enjoying Ben a bit as a character, which is I'm sure the writers' intention before they reveal why he went utterly ballistic while substitute teaching...

Season three superior to season two up to this point...

Shit that was good! Just finished the last 3 episodes.

Really think that was the best series of them all.

The cast is unreal on this. I have loved Laura Linney since first seeing her in The Life of David Gale - so pleased to see her excel in something this big. And that Ruth character - I don’t know the actor’s name but she’s incredible. But Jason Bateman... jeez. Not only content with being an underrated actor, he is producing and directing at an exciting level. I won’t pretend to know a lot about the art of either but everything he is involved with recently as either, is excellent.

I really feel like this has more life in it as a show.

The wife and I finished season 3 in two days, just fantastic viewing with some great characters and depth to them all, they aren't just place fillers

Ruth has to be one of the best characters on TV.

And Frank Jr...…..fully justified

Ben's inclusion as a character was very successful. Great stuff as usual from the 3rd series. Never a dull moment and Laura Linney and Julia Garner gave us some terrific performances. Some wonderful female characters in this one.

Heard it mentioned a lot lately with everyone sharing their favourite shows. Is it worth watching then ?
Before you answer that let me add, me ex wife and I share a Netflix account, I can see she's a good bit through it so if I start it it will start off her from where I left off each time I do, which I know gets on her tits (ironic that Netflix gets that perk and I don't)
So is it worth watching then ?

Watched ~~season~~ series 3 episode 9 last night...

Will watch the finale tonight, but not looking forward to the resolution of at least one plot arc...

Series 3 has been very, very good, far superior to season 2 for any who stopped watching after that series.

Personally, I wouldn't place it alongside Mad Men or The Wire. I'd place it behind Justified in the lower second, upper third tier.

I thought it was a great series. I find it incredibly stressful to watch (must be getting over sensitive in my old age!), yet can't stop watching it. Ep 9, fuck me. And the finale. The coldness; not watched anything like that since seeing Unforgiven in the cinema back in '92.

It's up there with the best in my opinion, so far anyway (you never know, it could go all Dexter on us). I think each season getting released in one go doesn't help it, as great as that is for binge watchers. It means no discussion or anticipation between episodes.

I think it is too short still to be compared with the very best - those series had longevity and consistency across many, many years.

But I can't remember too many series I enjoyed more.
