Didn't know that - maybe that'll end up happening then. Can emergency loans be done at any time throughout the season?
There is no emergency loan window  to Championship.

That window is scrapped 2-3 years back.

oops, I read an article from a couple of years ago.

But I did find one about it ending,

"If my washing machine breaks, I shouldn’t have to wait until the end of the year to fix it. It’s madness. What happens if I haven’t got enough money to have two washing machines? Newcastle will have two or three, so they’ll be more efficient and I’ll be walking around in dirty clothes looking like a tramp."

-Ian Holloway

At least he admits it.

How about we judge him once he's actually been able to play a few games?
Ok, seen him on youtube, I'm ready to make a judgement

Taken off after 36 mins or so against Man City. Hope this is nothing serious... at least we won  ;)

Interesting comments about it being a precautionary substitution due to the first teams heavy fixture schedule - looks like if the injury is not too bad he may be involved in first team action in the coming weeks

I wouldn't be so sure as I think Ings if he can find fitness definitely has a place, for me, in our squad. We need options in attack and in Ings I believe he would provide good cover and be a good option for us from the bench. He is a good finisher and presses well and holds up the ball well. So he has attributes I think we can certainly use and I wouldn't just let him go in haste, because I certainly give him the opportunity for him to show that he can be part of this squad.

 ::)

He's missed 2 full seasons, had 2 serious knee injuries and in all likelihood isn't even as good as Solanke even without those 2 missed seasons and 2 serious knee injuries.

We wouldn't have let Origi (a player who's actually fit most of the time, and who also scores semi-regularly) go on loan if we weren't comfortable with our options without the need to consider Danny Ings.

Firmino
Sturridge
Solanke
...hell even Mane or Salah would probably get a run out as our no9 before Ings. Rhian Brewster might seriously get a run out before Ings.

The *only* reasons he's still at the club at all is because we won't have been able to find a good enough offer to move him permanently or on loan because of his awful injury record.

Think that is probably right.

Perfectly decen player, but not at the level we need and not to be relied upon.

I hope he gets a move to a decent club. I think Newcastle could be a good option. He could be Kuyt Mk II for a Rafa side.

Not sure why people are so quick to write him off when he hasn't even played for us this season yet.

I expect he will play a part in the league cup v Leicester, I'd like to see him start up top with solanke but I reckon klopp will opt to bring him off the bench given his lack of first team action.

Think Ings is gonna surprise a few people here.

He has many qualities that will shine in our team but above all, I believe he has something that we need, now more than ever.

Tenacity.
He never gives up!

If given a proper run, I believe Ings can be one of our standout players.

He is also a proven goal scorer and good in the box, would be a great option to have him available even if just on the bench.

Glad to see Danny on the way back, hope injuries are behind him now, his attitude is solid!

It pains me to see the comments on FB on the LFC post regarding his return, it was a variety of things containing:

- Picking up a wage while doing nothing, get rid
- Need him back, Firmino is shit
- Sack Klopp plz
- WHERE IS VVD???

Mostly fans from Africa and Asia I am afraid to say. As a foreign fan myself (am Portuguese, moved to the UK at 11) it pains me to see this shit and you wonder if at times the players see it, it's pure toxic, on Twitter and FB everything after games, including games we win, the comments are pure TOXIC, asking for Klopp to be sacked? we haven't lost a game since March!! Fucking pains me, what happened to best fans in the world?

Even locals on the phone ins on BBC 5 saying same shite, do people not "get" this club anymore, through thick and thin man!

Man has worked super hard to come back from serious injury and seems toc are a great deal about the club and does his job professionally, puts in a shift with U23's also when some would moan about that and he contributes to their league campaign!

Anyway, back on track, I rate DIngs - he has had a torrid time with injury and I admit his record is bad with them, that's 4 major knee issues now, two with us and two with Burnley I believe but when he has played he looked class and a right fit for Klopp footie, I really hope he stays 100% fit, I think he has a lot to give to our style of footie!!!

Definitely! More than likely to get something from nothing than any other of our strikers, due to the positions he takes up. Michael Owen always said he would score an extra 5-10 goals a season just by following up other players' shots, waiting for the keeper to spill something or a ricochet - Ings is like that, he works the 6 yard box really well.

I am not sure who drops out to make room for him v Leicester, unless we are resting one of Firmino or Sturridge completely. Solanke has done enough to start v Leicester or at least feature for longer than 10 minutes, but I would like to see Ings on the bench.

He has looked really sharp in the few under 23 games he's taken part in. I really hope he manages to get on the score sheet tomorrow. It would be a real lift for both him and the club who have worked really hard, to get him back up to speed.

I will always remember that little run of game time he had during Rodgers' last few matches. Scoring in the League Cup and against Everton. Thought he would really kick on and start more games for us until he was struck down by another serious injury.

He wasn't renowned for his pace but it's fair to say he hasn't lost any, even after his massive injury problems, if anything he looked quicker than before. Got into a great position from a cross, although his header wasn't the best it almost fooled Hamer.
