Spanish implode as usual against a very poor French outfit, they dont go for it enough with far too much pointless passing. Theres definitely something wrong with the spanish psyche as its been evident again, no heart, no fight.

Just goes to show that anyone can defeat anyone if the time is right - the last laugh of this WC could easily end up being with a maligned manager like Domenech or Eriksson.

I can't believe Aragones took David Villa off again and so early and completely changed the shape when they easily had the better of the first half. Once the changes were made there was no real central focus up top and they couldnt keep it.

My opinion, dick head manager just chucked Spain's chances away.

Was certainly a bizarre change. Spain had certainly lacked width in the first half and bringing Garcia or Joaquin on was clearly necessary, not however at the expense of Villa. Can't see France progressing past Brazil to be honest but at least todays football has been of a significantly higher standard than yesterdays.

OK, attention turns to Spain.

Prediction: scrappy, dogged, with a France win, unfortunately. Can see a 2-1 win for Les Bleus...

Hoping I'm wrong, mind but Spain haven't been tested against a decent side yet.

Zidane screwed my prediction.

Why pick Raul and why take Villa off?  Gutted for Xabi who was immense first half and for Luis who should have started.

Henry is a fucking disgrace.  I hope the people having such a go at Grosso for a debatable "dive" last night take the sam eline with that prick who held his face trying to get Puyol sent off/booked when contact was no where near his face.

Disgusted by Henry, running into Puyol, then going down trying to make it look like an elbow. Anyway Spain have only themselves to blame, gave it away when they should´ve finished it inside the first 45 mins.

Torres is the most overrated fuckin player I've ever seen. When he's not giving the ball away he's on his arse. How the fuck anyone can say he's worth 25 million is beyond me.

Alonso had a solid game, best player for me.

Spain were piss poor tonight. Just think, Ukraine are through and Spain are out. Never would have predicted that...

I didn't think there were any circumstances that would leave me supporting Brazil, but I hope they beat the living shit out of the French.

I especially hope that Emerson or one of their other nastier players gives that c*nt Henry something to really go to ground about.

Ditto to both comments. Once again fucking cheats like Henry, Figo and Grosso change the course of the game. Granted Spain were crap in the second half and lacked the attacking spirit they had in the first, but for it to come down to this all because Henry's still a bit bitter of the CL final...Ribery, Zidane and Sagnol were the only players keeping France in tonight and once more Henry showed he cannot cut it on the world stage. I hope Germany v Argentina will change this malicious chain of events that have occurred in the knockout stages. The last few matches have made me embarassed to be a football fan.

As one of the chief protagonists on the Grosso thing, you'll be glad to know I agree, I thought that was disgraceful from Henry who has always been a player I've had nothing for but admiration.

Is right. Considerably more cynical than any other act of simulation I've seen in the world cup. Didn't Henry say something about diving in the aftermath of the Champions League final. Great footballer but gone down in my opinion big time tonight.

What's worse is having to listen to Venables defend him.

Was certainly a bizarre change. Spain had certainly lacked width in the first half and bringing Garcia or Joaquin on was clearly necessary, not however at the expense of Villa.

I don't think they needed it. France arent very good down the flanks and with the three men in there and the striker dropping off Spain had total control of the middle of the park in the first half. France were only ever going to score by springing the offside trap, that's a small threat really in my book so they shouldnt have worried, they showed a bit too much fear for me. I think they had that game in the bag, goals would have come but instead let it go with the changes.

I bet Rafa's sitting at home eager to put that national side right, but not just yet tubby man, not just yet.
