Paris St Germain (A) - 28/11/18
« on: September 4, 2018, 01:07:57 pm »
As people wanted a separate thread for each game (which I admit is a good idea).....

So what are we looking at for this 2,200 or 1.400? Hoping it's the former!
We are a team of one half.

Depends on the allocation, but should Sevilla, Porto, City and Roma be enough for this one?

Chelsea got 2100 2 seasons ago and then they also got them last year an their allocation got cut to 1400. They appealed but due to their behaviour the year before and the extra threat to terrorism it was rejected. Hopefully we will get 2200.

Any suggestions on cheap-ish accommodation for the night of the game with free cancellations?

Got a cheap flight from London in the hope I can snag a spare. £12 cancellation fee if not so not too bad.

Chelsea last played them in 16/17 season. last season Celtic had them in the group and got 2.1k

We got 2450 for Sevilla so unfortunately with Corporates hovering I think you may just miss out.

Seems like they won't add the Europa League games to this either? When we had 6 aways last season.

Theres no flights to Limoges anymore . Seen cheap flights to Paris from Speke but it meant five days in Paris which I cant be arsed with. Maybe the Eurostar or the overnight bus from London to get to Lille at about 5am then le choo choo to Paris.

They'll have to you'd imagine. I have 7 going back as far as Bordeaux so hoping that I'll be OK to qualify

I’m hoping they go back to the Bordeaux game also to guarantee tickets for this. That’s the last game with an allocation similar to the 2100

You’ve all got me worried now.

I’ve got 5 from last year (only missed Maribor)
And 3 from the previous Europa run.

Got to be enough surely?

5 would be guaranteed. I reckon less than 1k have 5+. With 640 at Maribor and guess of 500 at spartak.

In the same boat and with the always positive posts in the ticket threads here on Rawk in starting to doubt my mate with 4 from last season and 7 over the last 2 campaigns will qualify. Told him to book (and he did) as tickets would be guaranteed  :o ::)

I imagine at least 200-300 with Maribor (if not more) will have Moscow as well.

Anyone else flying from Beauvais on the Thursday morning?

It's miles away from central Paris but seems pretty straight forward to get there

Also we are getting the train from Brussells on the Wednesday morning - really cheap route if anyone is still looking. Flying in from manc.

Cheers mate. Just booked our six on the 8.47. Was waiting for advance tickets on the 9.47 so we could use our Railcards but this means we’re cutting it less fine with checking in for Eurostar.

Good shout with the Virgin trains sale. I've managed to get down to London on the Tuesday night for £11.20, and the return back to Liverpool on the Thursday for the same fare. Staying at sons place overnight then Eurostar to Paris return £81, (went up from £76). Son sorting out place to stay in Paris, just tickets to sort now.

The Latin Quarter is lovely - I stayed there for the Euros and its a decent hub with student (cheap, for Paris..) bars, bistros and good transport links.

The Old Lady  ( as the locals called it when I lived there ) is a boss city . It's one of them though when a tourist says what do I do in London ?  I use to live up in Menilmontant / Belleville ( not Belle Vale ) which is a lot cheaper than the tourist bits. There's a boss park called Butte - Chaumont too in the North.  Ile Saint Louis is a little Island were as already said there is a nice little Latin quarter.

Found a spot near Bastille - that area ok? accessible to everywhere? I had looked around the Gare du Nord originally for ease when we arrive but someone told me it was rough.

They cancelled. Guess they realised it was too good a price...

Are you sure someone else hasn't cancelled it for you? that hotel is £91 for 4 people on the night we play PSG.

Yep. It's a bit rough around the station. There's loads of second hand vintage shops in the area though with sports gear from the 70s and 80s if that's your thing. Bastille is a nice area and there's loads of bars and cafes down the back streets. Lots to do there and it's really close to Ile Saint Louis.

Menilmontant is not that far away from there. Best thing as always is get lost and that's how you find the little gems. I found a bar this way which I use to go often. A tiny bar and the owner was an old fella and use to play his vinyl jazz records on his record player behind the bar. I think it was only a euro for a glass of red. The place was more or less always empty and I think he just loved playing his records to people and loved company. Pere Lachaise is close by too if you are into Jim Morrison

Looks like the "MyParis" option of a members card to get a ticket has now sold out according to their website. Just had a look at various other sites, and how can they get tickets for our away section and charge €795 euros each? There's even a direct link from PSG's website to their fans resale ticket portal, and they are charging upwards of €175 euros up to about €690 euros. It looks like they could be as rare as rocking horse do-dahs folks.

That may be people who know/think they will qualify and want to make a quick buck or else it's just your typical tout bullsh1t that goes on on those sites where they might advertise a ticket for a mental price then try and acquire said ticket themselves for less than what they are asking for it. Praying I'll be OK for one for this game myself on Bordeaux, Utd, Dortmund, Sevilla, Porto, City, Roma plus hopefully Napoli and Red Star before PSG
