Wow, I didn't realize I also suffer from an elite athletic injury. Ready to lace up my boots too, Kloppo. Just give me an hour or so cos it's hard to bend and reach my shoes.

I am not sure about this guy’s lifestyle- is he dedicated enough to his trade to sacrifice some of the trappings of celebrity in order to keep himself in peak physical condition?

When his girlfriend says he wakes up to eat junk food in the early hours of the morning, it worries me

Nah man. You missing the most important thing. What does his body language say? We need an expert to tell us if he is fully committed.

Don't know about body language, but he's walking, so he should be OK.

It's a long way back for AOC - after his major injury he had his best ever (IMO) performance for us against vs Atletico at home but after the restart he looked woefully out of sorts and this won't help.

The big thing in his favour in terms of getting back amongst the team is the amount of games and injuries we have.

Well Fabinho might have to be a fulltime CB until at least January, and Milner will be required to deputise at FB on either side (depending on Tzimokas' fitness). Gini and Henderson have been tanks so far, but Keita, AOC and Thiago all have a long history of bad injury records (Thiago's before he came to us as I consider his season so far to have been very unlucky due to Covid & bluenose shithouse rather than injury prone).

Well, considering we haven't seen him for how long? Right now I'd be happy if he was back around 18th December? But as ever hope and expectation are two different things....It would be nice to go into the Christmas/new year with the majority of our midfielders to give us plenty of options for some playing at the back.

Looking really good as per Klopp in his Wolves press conference, joining in with bits of the warm up and they're looking to develop that over the next few days. Really close to returning.

Hopefully he can get a few minutes in Denmark to build up some fitness.

Hopefully he can get a few minutes in Denmark to build up some fitness.

If he's not doing full training now then playing in Denmark next week is not realistic. Given he's been out for months I suspect we'll need to see him in full training for at least a week before he'll get selected for a game. A bit different for Trent and Keita since their injuries were short term, they've played this season and did a pre-season.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Great news.

He will effectively have to do a pre-season though won’t he? so I’m thinking it might be what, 2-3 weeks before we see him?

Fantastic news, great to have the lad back.

Suddenly we are looking a lot more solid in terms of midfield options, with 5/6 players for 3 positions.

Hasn’t played a game for us this season. His last game was in July against Chelsea.

We need bodies and the fact that he is a goal threat from midfield is certainly most welcomed.

Not an easy call at all.. I think one has to look at the squad numbers on the pants and tops.
I believe Matip and Jones missed the training today.   But they could have been anywhere but not picked up by CTV training video cameras.

It's a shame but his injury record and these significant gaps are really going to be a major issue in terms of his continued Liverpool career. It's only going to get harder to pick it up and reintegrate into the first XI especially when the competition is so fierce, and in some cases, superior. It's Lallana all over again.

It is a shame, he was outstanding up to his injury v Roma and hasn't looked the same player since. If he can remain injury free might be an option from the bench, but we are pretty well stacked in midfield now. I would say that he's now behind Jones and Keita and with Thiago coming back before too long and Fab possibly  moving back into midfield if we buy a new centre back in Jan,  he may not even make the match day squad sometimes. He has 2 years left after this so it's quite possible he'll move in the summer if he doesn't get regular game time for the rest of this season.
