Could he try another German club maybe? Bar Bayern of course.

I wouldn't completely rule him out of going to Bayern next summer to be honest. It might not seem his style, but Klopp deserves more trophies on his record. I don't think anyone would begrudge him going there to pick up a few easy titles and a decent shot at another CL.

I personally would be surprised.

I understand it would need to be kept a secret, and maybe its getting discussed, but it really does seem by far the best option.

No I didn't see it that way. He said he wasn't arsed because he knows it won't be his last ever. Pretty clear to me.

Why the last sentence then? Why's he referred to as weary in the article? He wasn't saying he didn't care about it being his last European game because it wasn't.

Definitely the way I read it too

Cannot see him taking on another club at all. All that massive energy level needed in the first couple of years to get things ticking as he wants, nah.

A national team perhaps.

It depends entirely how he takes too the rest. I have said before he may enjoy the rest so much he will continue it. At this stage nobody really knows, he's going at the right time as football will not get any better, with more fixtures and pressure on managers increasing. I am pretty sure one of the things he wanted to do with his family was travel as well, maybe he will find time to do that, before deciding later on whether to return in some capacity or just retire for good.

Yep we fucked it up in the end, Jurgen and the players will take a share of that blame.. But I just want to thank this giant of a man, a wonderful wonderful human being that brought us all so much joy.. the end kind of ruined things for us cos in football obviously you’re only as good as your last result.. we win everyone’s great we lose they’re shit sell them. I don’t deny the issues we have and I wonder if Klopp leaving ended up putting pressure on the lads knowing if they fuck up they can’t give Klopp a send off.. I don’t know, too painful to think of that right now and going back to the point of my post. No doubt this forum will be a tough place to be given the form of the boys and what’s happened over the last few weeks but I just wanted to say THANK YOU, Jurgen, you gave us all some wonderful memories. A great manager and an even better man, he’ll be missed.. Go get that well deserved rest , Boss.

Players and manager have made mistakes. I don't think anyone has let anyone down overall.

Waiting for his interview, but it really feels that he’s struggling. I would let him take a breather and perhaps come for the last game. Something not right and it’s being felt by the players.

Just saw his interview. I don’t think I’ve seen this demeanour from him before, really low energy and fed up, screwing his fist into his eyes. He looked the same before the game started.

He's given us everything and against all the odds won us the league and European Cup. He's absolutely fucked. He looks ill and I hope he's looking after himself.

He doesn’t look right at all. The presser before the game was more concerning.
I’m sure his wife and family are looking after him, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes an immediate break and comes back for the last game.

That's it then. Dreaded the end of his reign and the fact we were challenging for the title softened the blow somewhat. There is nothing left now but the cold hard fact that he won't be with us as our manager anymore.

It's hard to predict with Klopp. I could easily see him enjoying the easy life on permanent holiday maybe doing the odd TV pundit gig while spending most of his time with his family. Having said that, I could also see him coming back after a year or so after Ulla has told him to go find a new job, because it's annoying having him home all the time. ;) No matter, what happens, it'll happen, because it's what he actually wants to do. I'm pretty sure though that we won't see or hear of him for at least a year (except for media speculation whenever a high profile job is available).

Agree he's going at the right time. Football is fucked. VaR, shite refs, sky tribalism tik tok fan experts want to bes, fans priced out of being able to afford to take their children to games, city cheating.but still allowed to complete.

Gutted for Klopp

Having overlapping injuries to 8 starters for 6 weeks killed us. I mean back line Matip (season), Trent (14 weeks), Robbo (14 weeks). Midfield Dom (8 weeks), Curtis (6 weeks); forwards Salah (12 weeks), jota (8 weeks). Ali (8 weeks). ALL AT FUCKING ONCE. Mix in Thiago, Endo, Grav, Stef, Conner, Kostas. No squad in the world gets near 80 points with that shambles.

What the fuck. Klopp deserved better. There is no Fowler.

Klopp will always be a legend. His tenure marked by incredible highs and tragic cruel heartbreaking lows.

That’s been his career, starting with his first full season at Mainz.  Too many cruel lows, but also many incredible highs, and all those highs achieved the right way, and the hard way.  It is what it is! He’ll deal with it far better than fans do.

He’s clearly lost a lot of his energy and fight the last few months, and does seem muted and not himself. I just hope he and his family are ok, that’s all that matters at the end of the day.

Thank you for everything Jurgen, so many memories, so many moments, that will stay with me for as long as I'm alive. You embody everything that this club, supporters and city are about, a one of a kind, man and manager, it was a pleasure and privilege to have had you as a manager. It's a damn shame its not ending the way we envisioned and you deserve but such is football, such is life.

The end doesn’t matter the journey was what it was all about, and I had days with this Liverpool Manager that will be with me on my deathbed, as happy as the days I’ll remember under Kenny, Joe Fagan, Rafa…

Thanks Jurgen.

Klopp seems done. I hope he gets a good, long rest. His teams have played some of the best football for almost 15 years. I loved his Dortmund sides. They played beautiful football. Our "mentality monsters" were phenomenal. They changed the game. Gegenpressing with high full backs was all over Europe after their run. Pure quality.

I remember RAWK went nuts the day he signed. That crazy gif thread was fun as hell. One of the best. And, Klopp fucking well lived up to it.

The best manager I have ever seen and an inspirational human being anyone would wish to emulate. At times, it felt like he was speaking directly into our hearts as fans and reassuring us everything would be okay. I have never seen a person that had the ability to understand your emotional needs before even you recognised them. And this is speaking as a fan from thousands of miles away. I can't imagine what a privilege it was for everyone at the club to work with him on a day-to-day basis.  A huge loss to the club and I imagine the city. Sadly, the PGMOL and the cheats robbed him of his true glory but anyone with any understanding recognises Klopp for the irreplaceable giant he is. What a champion and legend.

It really sucks that this is how it ends but you can never predict when your mental health is going to deteriorate. I wouldn't be upset if he took a few weeks off and only came back for the last game to be honest, he looks completely done and ready to head back home.

Hope he gets as much rest as he needs and is back in perfect health asap!
