its a bit pointless offering free metro passes when its not even built/finished either from the airport to the city centre or from the city centre to the stadium

Looking online it appears to be imminent when it’s opening if not already but getting info appears pretty difficult

what little info there is about the Doha Metro states it only runs from Sunday - Thursday (to enable the completion of other lines)
again sounds a bit pointless when the final is a Saturday, lets hope the airport link is open and the green line to the stadium is up and running in the next 2-3 weeks

Anyone know when we will get tickets or any info from the club ?
"FIFA has advised that E-Tickets will be issued for all tickets purchased directly from LFC.  An email including the E-Ticket will be sent to all supporters who have purchased tickets from Wednesday December 11."

From LFC website.

The Doha Metro is open all week, and the Green Line will be up and running by then. A day pass costs Ł1.25, although it will be free on match days for ticket holders.

Not sure where you've read that, but it's inaccurate. EC Golf Club does not serve alcohol.

The Fan Zone will be across town, at Doha Golf Club.

The Lightning Seeds, Space, Tea Street Band, Jamie Webster and loads of others will be playing at the Fan Zone. Free entry too.

The Green Line - which Education City is on - opens next Tuesday. So does the Hamad International Airport station, which is on the Red Line.

Sounds like your the man in the know with the metro! Do you live in Doha? So you reckon the Green line to Education City will be open for the Reds two games there? Is the Red line from the airport still not up and running yet?

Yes, I live in Doha. The Green Line will definitely be open by then, and also the Red Line from the airport. I'm told they will open next Tuesday (10th).

I get in to Doha early morning on the 17th and fancy going to watch Flamengo play their SF that same night but don't see tickets being available on the FIFA site is there anywhere else you can buy as I don't think this game will be anywhere near a sellout?

Not arsed about this in the least, the lads should treat it as a holiday and let the 'fringe players' start.

I'd expect 5-6 changes between the two games but there is no doubt if we get to the final it will be the best XI out there

Difficult to say for certain right now, as the line is not open yet, but I'd estimate it will take around 45 minutes from station to station. Things should become clearer over the next week or so.

I felt a bit like that until I was persuaded how differently it looks through South American/international eyes.  Flamengo wanted to beat River Plate in the copa libertadores so that they can get us in the final.  We are the scalp they want (again).  Their biggest achievement as a club was to beat us in 1981 in the intercontinental cup.  It would be embarrassing for us now to lose to them in a final.  Strongest team please.

Any Idea what the Metro operating times are (start/finish)

we arrive at 23:45 and need to be at the airport fairly early (6.00am)

The Metro runs from 6am to 11pm, so a cab is your best bet.

Might be better posting stuff like this in the world cup thread on the main board. Rather than this one that is being used by people that are dragging their arses to another continent to support the lads in a competition you aren't arsed about. Just a thought.

Just announced that the Education City Stadium will no longer be the venue for LFC games. It will be Khalifa Stadium instead, which has a slightly larger capacity, I think. All match tickets remain valid.

The Sports City Metro station is right next to Khalifa Stadium.
