The winner of Chikhura Sachkhere v Maribor. Maribor are winning 1-0 both in the game and on aggregate with 10 minutes left of the match.

I suppose Maribor is not much better than Osijek but they've been in CL a few times recent years though.

I think probably because Atalanta have just started their pre-season recently, and they equalized late on in that first leg, though they could pull it through in the 2nd but I'm delighted they didn't, but my missus would kill me for saying that

To be fair, i think the Wigan violence was blown out of proportion. There was a video going around that was attributed to fights after that game that were actually 3 years old. There were lots of Wigan fans on the Rangers messageboard before and after the game saying they never seen any violence, were made to feel very welcome & had a great time.

As for last night, i'm not sure what led to the stabbings but i know there were incidents over in Croatia, & last night there were a small amount of Osijek fans walking up Paisley Road West with MMA gloves & gumshields on pre game. I don't condone any violence but they were certainly no pure innocent party last night.

Their manager stayed classy as ever it seemed last night as well.....

Why the fcuk when British fans go abroad are we shepherded to and from the stadiums with a massive police presence, yet a group of Croats were allowed to walk up Paisley Road West with flares and attack normal match going fans with police nowhere to be seen?

Hodgson deserves a lot of derision for many reasons, but like Pulis and Allardyce, for the style of football he likes to play, he's a very good coach, and it's a very basic system, so any new coach following it will do quite well with it, up to a point.

Gerrard is already ahead of the Nevilles and Shearer, Ince, etc., in that he's not trying to reinvent the Barca wheel and be one of the "progressive" coaches. The problem is that if this is the path he's going to go down, it doesn't auger well for any future appointment at Liverpool. But for his own career, it's a smart tactical choice.

My friend was at the game with his boy and seen them before the game. It also appears there was a big group of Croatian supporters were drinking in a well known Celtic bar in the afternoon of the game, and 1 of the videos that were put online of the Rangers fans being attacked was put on by a Celtic supporter who just happened to be in the area.

Think he'll go on to be a good manager. One thing I noticed from his books and TV interviews is that he seems to be very good judge of talent. I think in the modern game, some really talented managers lose their jobs cause they sign the wrong players. Rodgers was a good manager - not Klopp level, but still a good manager. His transfer market record was really poor though.

Excited to see what he does at Rangers. If he can bridge the gap and win some silverware, he can then come and do a Zidane under Ancelotti type of thing and take over when Klopp gets bored after our 4th successive treble in 2022.

Just like we did with Souness eh. And that turned out well in the end...

By the way, I'm not necessarily saying it would work out for us the exact same way if we did hire Gerrard. I just want him to prove himself at a club in a much stronger league, before he takes charge of the greatest club in the world. And not just given the job because he's done well in a league I considered no better than league one standard/bottom half championship standard at best. Oh and because of who he is.
