One of the more recognisable buildings in the trailer was this post-war Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox.

I hope this doesn't affect FSG's involvement with us.

Wonder if you'll be able to log onto RAWK from a terminal and see a load of people moaning about them ;D

There's always going to be people who aren't satisfied. It's quite childish but you have to accept people sometimes just want to see the bad in everything, instead of the potential in a new Fallout installment. GAF is full of people moaning about those mountains. Who really gives a shit? 3 and NV were janky as fuck, didn't make them any less of an experience in my eyes.

Me too. I'm not putting much stock in the trailer because it seems like it's trying to capture the mood of the game as opposed to how it'll actually play (there's no gameplay, after all) and I'm looking forward to seeing that in a couple of weeks. And even if it's Malibu Stacy with a new hat, that's good enough for me right now, the joy is in the gameplay, the stories, the exploring and slow motions of heads being separated from bodies.

the player character will finally talk, and narrate his storyline

You can only be a male in the main story

Hmmm, not sure about these, I'd prefer neither of these changes. The second just limits what you can do with your character. Hope the first one is optional anyway.

So is this really running on some modified Gamebryo engine or is that unconfirmed speculation?

Well most likely. Skyrim had a 'new engine' called Creation Engine which was like 80% Gamebryo. Fallout 4 seems to be using the same judging by graphics and animations.

That's a bit shit if true, hope it isn't.
They really could have stepped up with new technology, not like they haven't had time or money or need to do so.

You can continuously improve an existing engine though, you don't have to build a whole new one from scratch. In fact if an engine is well made you can completely replace parts of it like the renderer, editor, audio middleware, etc, without having to change too much elsewhere.

There's also the question of how much time do you want to invest in graphics, given that most increases in graphical quality result in more work for the content creators, who could instead be spending their time building a vast, open world.

I've just finished watching the Bethesda E3 press conference and the game looks ridiculously good. Like really, really good.

They've added so many things that weren't in Fallout 3, and stuff that I would never even have thought of. Oh my god I cant wait.

Again, this looks very good.

$120 on the Amazon.com store, apparently they're going to be limited so I made a preorder on there in case I miss the UK announcement.

To be able to use it whilst playing is awesome as well. Bethesda put all other major publishers to shame last night.

Graphics really look aged - not in a good way, but hey, it'll matter a grand total of 0% once I start playing.
However I really expected them to show dramatic improvement in that department as well - but it wasn't to be.
Hope they aren't planning to flog this tired horse all through this generation of consoles, which means probably another Fallout and a couple Elder Scrolls games.

I think the art direction is better here, I didn't enjoy Fallout 3 as much as New Vegas and that's partly because of the gritty dull colours.

Didn't New Vegas look as bad as FO3? FO3 was a green mess, New Vegas was an orange mess. FO4 finally has some color.

The neon lights helped a bit, didn't feel as compressed either seeing as it was set in a desert.

It's a free game with very little to buy with real money seemingly, so market size probably doesn't matter to them. No doubt Apple paid them a wedge to make it exclusive.
