Any fancies for Glorious Goodwood today? I’m liking the look of Duke Of Hazzard. Loves the course and ran a great race behind Mohaather last time out.
My Lucky 31;

Tinandali 1.45
Safe Voyage 2.45
Celsius 3.45
Alkumait 4.20
Asiaaf 4.55

Some fiendishly difficult handicaps to sift through today.

Looking forward to seeing if Santiago can put it up to Stradivarius getting all that weight. Can’t be that many Irish Derby winners who’s next race was the Goodwood Cup.

The only other bet I picked out was Maydanny.

Good to see Santiago running. As good as Stradivarius undoubtedly is he's beating up the same horses every time he races really. Kew Gardens was the only top notch newcomer to tackle and beat him in the last year or so.

I'd say there's a bit more room in his mark going forward, might be put away for a biggish handicap later in the summer.

Boom. 😂

Maydanny won’t be running in a handicap next time. Or for a while unless he gets Johnstoned.

With the lockdown this year first year I've properly tracked horses and it's paying off so far, obviously not going to be a millionaire but after years of aimless punting I definitely see the sense in not having a bet in most races and watching them properly instead.

Not keen on that horse I have to say.

My e/w acca is still going with 2/3 places and a winner in Space Blues, but it's pitiful how much the return is when horses don't win..

Ran a good race but was never catching the favourite.

Don’t usually do e/w bets but like Caspian Prince later at 33-1...

Was a little disappointed with Santiago there, no obvious excuses, perhaps it turned into a bit of a sprint but he was well placed. Wonder if they’ll go to the St Leger now.

Stradivarius is just brilliant though, so consistent and goes on most ground. Sounds like they’re heading for the Arc

Don’t blame the owner for trying but I don’t think he stands a chance of beating Love, Enable or even Ghayyaith over that trip. He was put in his place at Newmarket and I don’t see why it’d be different at Longchamp.

Anything for day two?

I like a couple in the first race (Be More & Lake Lucerne) and one in the last (Arigato).

Really looking forward to the Sussex stakes though, should be a great race. I’ve already backed Mohaather but think Circus Maximus is the danger rather than the 3 yr olds. Done very little wrong and already a 3 times Grp1 winner at a mile.

Yep Circus Maximus at the odds for me. Would favour Siskin over Mohaather.

Sussex will be a watching brief only, because I want to be able to fully enjoy the race with nothing riding on it.

I'm with you on Lake Lucerne, I also like Sarvan and Toro Strike.

Missed yesterday so just catching up. I enjoyed the maiden race a few nice types.

Selections & thoughts for today :

13:10: Ghaziyah (e/w) (Galileo for in form Haggas yard.. like this one)
13:45: True Destiny Win
14:15: A Star Above (e/w)
14:45 Ben Macdui (small e/w)

Ben Macdui in the Molecomb is a massive price by Kodiac for IN form Kevin Ryan yard.  I got 18/1 this morning on betfair and is now 16's so some money about for it only small amounts but you never know! :)

FYI: Betfair are now showing Timeform figures for every runner in every race on their racecards for free.... (just click exchange, select race and click 'Timeform Pro').

They say this is for a limited time. Timeform subscription is usually £70/month (!)

Seemed to be going well then got squeezed out and gave up I thought something had gone wrong with the horse the way it went back

Marquand is so good. The sign of a great jockey is winning on horses they really shouldn’t and he does it more than anybody. Haggas uses him a lot but he deserves to be stable jockey or a retainer for a massive operation.

If he can win with Luke Morris chopping trees on his back, he’s a group horse ;D

Maybe not a group horse on that evidence 😂 Colin Keane doing Colin Keane things, ye'll be hearing a lot more about him over the next few years in Britain. Feel like the horse won a bit snugly there, a bit more to come hopefully.

He did last time 😂 I actually do think he is potentially a group horse.

Mohaather is a giant of the sport. Looked another Ascot 2 1/2 out and he lost lengths because of it. He’s still got more in the tank. He’s beat them cosy at the line after all that.

Nearly got stuck again, but got there eventually. Probably wins further given a smooth passage

Think that’s as good a line up for a mile race in a long time. First 4 all Very good horses, imagine Kameko will be better over 10f now or a stiffer mile with a break neck gallop
