Has everyone who applied for their visa in Liverpool  received it now ?   Couldn't do it as we needed our passports for a holiday this week .  Going down weds to apply which gives  2weeks to get it back should be plenty of time but would be interested if anyone's application took longer than 2 weeks to get back ( including return delivery )

They say you need to send in Visa and boarding pass after but Visa is in passport, surely you don't have to send that in?!

That'll be plenty of time mate.

Last time we did it through an agency and still got it all back within the week.
Might be popping down weds. ourselves!

I did mine yesterday. Got there at 9am and was done by 9.05.

£90 lighter mind you. I'm collecting it next Friday, so if you can do that it's probably the best way.

don't really fancy 2 trips down so will trust the courier service -iirc when we went to Moscow it took less than a week but things have changed since then although they do say 5 working days so expect it to come in good time

You can pay for an express service but it's another £60

If you get it posted the turn around is 8 days. Still plenty of time if you go next week

Visa application in - 5.5 hrs drive , 10 mins at the visa centre , probably another 5.5 hrs drive home. They said it should be back in plenty of time via standard courier service

Steep enough ticket price considering some were expecting it to be around the ten quid mark

I hope so. I was just thinking that it's first come first served, not a guaranteed sale, so presumably more registered than there are tickets.

I need it to go to General sale, do you think it will or should I get sorted and not bother getting my own if it does drop?

People cant credit hunt if they can't prove their travel.

The proof of travel is the easy bit  ;) unlike the visa.

i watched the chelsea game at my sisters. her 12 year old son is severly autistic and i forgot myself and jumped up screaming at the goal and he went nuts. screaming and shouting. scared the fuck out of me. apologised to my sister as i thought id upset him, turns out he was joining in.

Don't really know much about  Kazan and considering making the trip. I'd be grateful for advice from anyone who knows what their supporters and the general attitude  is like towards foreign and more specifically ' non-white' away supporters.  Being of Asian origin is usually not a problem and I had no problems in Moscow for the Anzhi game but after a lot of deliberation and advice from others I gave the Zenit game a miss which in retrospect turned out to be a good decision as the lads I'd have gone with had a pretty scary time and I'm sure I'd have been targeted for 'special attention'.

Zenit fans have a well known reputation but I've no idea what Kazan fans are like - if anyone knows more I'd be grateful for your advice.

Cheers  Jeremy

Jeremy I don't think you'll have any problems with being Asian origin in Kazan. I visited the city a few years when travelling to Moscow for Russia vs Northern Ireland game. We were in Russia for a week and a half so started off in Kazan which is a nice city with a good Asian population living there. We took in a game at the old Kazan arena in the city centre is was Rubin vs Terek Grozny. There was a nice Asian family sitting in front of us at the game and chatted away to them. Make sure you visit the Kul Sharif Mosque at the Kremlin, fantastic building.

Kazan is a capital of Tatarstan - it's a national republic. It's population is about half of Russians, and another half of Tatars, also - a lot of other minority ethnicities. Tatars are turks.
Hope your journey to Russia is going to be great  :wave

Was a great trip Phil, Twin Peaks was excellent :P

Nice and cheap as well, and the lads were in fine form on the Vodka (Grey Goose ridiculously cheap)

I'm still shattered now, great to meet some fellow reds from all over Europe as well  :)
