Safe to say RTJ are 4/4 as far as albums go. This might be their best yet. The production is immaculate.

Killer Mike reminds me of Ice Cube so much, fucking love the guy.

Ice Cube is going off the deep end. He's been tweeting Q Anon shit and Ben Garrison cartoons this week, along with this old favourite:

Yeah I've seen some of his tweets recently. He must still be pissed off with Jerry Heller.

Lil Baby impressed me with this one. I didn't think a mumble rapper would have it in them.

Love a bit of Bronson, me. Vastly entertaining man.

Anybody come across a site called HipHopGoldenAge? They seem to cover loads of "Neo Boom Bap" (apparently this is a thing now), and have a good, constantly updated best of 2020 list https://hiphopgoldenage.com/list/the-best-hip-hop-albums-of-2020/

It has all the obvious suspects, RtJ, Freddie Gibbs, RA, Griselda stuff, Blu etc, but there's also loads of more obscure stuff that I was unaware of, though obviously many of you aficionados may keep far more up to date than me. Anyway, somebody pointed me their way recently and I thought it might be of interest to some of y'all. From the stuff I'd never, or barely, heard of before, I particularly liked albums from Third Root (sort of a modern Ozomatli), Supreme Cerebral (some great bars over lovely, soul-sampling production), CJ Fly (just a fun summer album) and Jamo Gang (Ras Kass' new thing).

I’ve never heard this song before until today and love it. Apparently Kendrick couldn’t clear the sample in time for it to be on GKMC. I think it would have been the best song on the album.

Obviously Biggie and Pac's tragic beef will remain the biggest beef ever but how great was it living through the Jay-Z and Nas beef? I've been listening to the music they released during that period and everything they both released at that time was top quality.

I don't think we will see another high level beef like it.

That was great. Probably the last high profile beef of that level. Pusha ruined Drake but that wasn't the same calibre emcee going at it, certainly not Drake. First time I heard the superugly diss by Jay-Z I was on the floor. Like holy shit. Jay-Z with that bad intentions sample.. I actually rate that higher than either the takeover or ether

Yeah I loved Superugly too. The track that prompted me to post about it was Last Real Nigga Alive by Nas, brilliant storytelling laced as a diss track.
