Are Sky customer service still based in Scotland? Not had Sky for over 11 years, but they used to be really helpful and gave good service.

Used to work in a sky call centre in Glasgow, most of their staff are located there and in Dunfermline. They've gone downhill since I left though  :P

Royal Mail got a vote because of how useless they were when I phoned to complain about a parcel that had been deliberately damaged in transit - some c*nt had written ooops on it in fucking felt tip pen.

Two I hate dealing with are Virgin Media and Barclaycard, mainly because the Indians in the call centre can never understand a word I'm saying due to the scouse accent.

Never had an issue with Yodel, the drivers we have are brilliant, if someone is not in, they always leave it with a neighbour.

Don't work for Yodel. They treat their drivers like shit.

Made 2 really important calls to MBNA and Go Daddy this morning and received amazing service.  Mind fully at ease now before the Bank Holiday weekend.

Phoned up complaining of constant poor signal and got told it's not their problem and nothing they could do - erm....you're the ones providing the "service" and you should be able to provide a decent service when you're own signal checking website claims "excellent" service in my area, and secondly, go and fucking sort it!

Going against the grain here....but majorly impressed with sportdirect.com and mastershoe.co.uk.....great price (AUD v GBP exchange rate helps)....but ordered from both recently and arrived in 3 days...yes 3 days...from UK to Oz ! Had a few enquiries during which...responded straight away....tracking of order brilliant.

2006 FA Cup Final, our 4 tickets hadn't turned up so rang the office. Got told they hadn't received our application, which as I pointed out was a big fat lie as they were sent Special Delivery and I had the name of the lad who had signed. They rang me back an hour later, tickets sorted, the application had been "found" filed in the wrong draw. Did end up in a cracking spec to the right of the goal.

I have never dealt with such a shambolic outfit in all my days. Horrendous. Upon the engineer coming out to set me up, we discovered we couldn't get a connection and so I cancelled my order. Straight away. On the fucking day.

But that didn't stop the bastards sending countless teams out to repeatedly dig up outside my house and outside all my neighbours, restricting access for everyone (weren't they delighted about that) and causing me to reverse my car into a wall, then threatening to take me to court for not paying bills for a service I never received, then their so-called customer service agents fobbing me off time after time after fucking time. And I'm not talking once here - it was repeated over and over again for a period of about four months; it haunted me. Hours on end in online chats that mysteriously ended without reason, on the phone to mouth breathing morons who had no idea what was going on - letters written to customer services and head honchos to communicate my dismay...

All I did was place an order, find out it would be a ball ache and then attempt to cancel it. That's it. Nothing complicated:
"I want to order a service"
"Errr that might be difficult"
"Ok cancel it then, please"

What's the problem??? :no :no :no

Phone conversations would end satisfactorily with a clear agreement that no money was owed and no further work was required; only for another nasty letter to come through the post telling me I owed even more money than the last one and yet another fucking van pulling up outside to dig up out the front of my house.

Normally I make a brew for anyone doing work at our house. With this fucking shower I was making them a brew in order to persuade them NOT to fucking do anything (it worked).

What became really apparent is that all the people working for them - sales, customer services, engineers, sub-contracted labourers - have no idea what they are doing, or why, or what the other people are doing, or why.

It is a head fuck, a total head fuck.

The whole organisation needs taking apart and putting together again.

I use to work for an insurance company in a call centre before being unfairly fired, anyways you will say any load of shite to get the customer off the phone i.e call backs and investigating your problem e.t.c  After 200 calls a day, you lose the will to live and can't be arsed.   Based on feedback stats all my customers still loved me! I told them what they wanted to hear and that's all that matters at the end of the day  ;D

Went with Scottish Power, I've had so many problems dealing with them. They were the supplier in all the student houses in the area I lived in, so we thought might as well stick with them. When we moved house between years at university, it took them 6 months for them to realise we were no longer living at the first house and kept chasing us for bills.

We then overpaid for one bill by £100 and they said they would send a cheque to us. It took 2 and a half months, several phone calls with them claiming they had sent it, and an email to the chief executive before we finally received our cheque.

Absolutely dreadful

DFS are annoying me at the moment, we ordered some cushions from their Preston store , which whilst is a 30 minute or so drive is the nearest to where we live.
I know ordering 2 cushions is over the top but it's a long story (matches the suite/sofa bed my Dad didn't want when my mum passed away a couple of years ago, part of the same range etc).

They said a few weeks to make them up which is fair enough, they wanted £58 to deliver them (jeez that is £16 more than they cost!), or we would have to go and collect them.
Went ahead with the order anyway as they are a perfect match for what we wanted.

I am still hoping I can stop on my way to the match this weekend and pick them up, however the last text I got from was on the 31st August saying they had arrived at the Rochdale depot and would let me know when they had been sent onto Preston.
It's now nearly 2 weeks since and despite 2 phone calls they still haven't left the depot - how hard can it be to send them on?

BT are comically bad. Still have nightmares of waiting four months for them to come and fit a phone line and internet in my flat. Must have spent hours and hours on the phone to them trying to sort it.

It's the call centres that are part of the problem and not just for BT for lots of companies.

Through some particular circumstances I'm having to work as tech support temporarily over the next little while for a cable tv company here in canada. It's interesting reading this thread from the other side of the fence so to speak. Just as one example of my daily routine, you would not believe the number of calls I get from people complaining that their remote has stopped working before realizing, halfway through the call, that the remote's batteries were removed by the kids or something.

In hindsight, BTs mistake was to assume I did not know what I was talking about. As an IT professional, I knew more about the issue at hand than the call center staff and when they continually fed me bullshit it just made me get angrier with withever poorly trained arse I was talking to in Ireland, India and Stoke.

Offshore does not need to mean rubbish. Santander call centres used to be terrible, but they have raised their game in the last few years.

I've had issues with Thomson, Virgin Trains, Nuffield Health, Lego & TFL this year. Each time having had limited joy, I've ended up going to the CEO on each occasion. Thomson in particular were really poor, I'd even got the ombudsman involved before they'd respond. If you go to the time & trouble of finding out what the regulations are, you'll find that a lot of forms sit dangerously close to the fence.

If your having no joy with a complaint, it's a good idea to call the firm out on Twitter. They hate it.

This is very true. I have had this with NPower, TalkTalk and LegoLand. All 3 sent me a message within 5 minutes and asked me to DM them and remove the tweet and then dealt with the complaint straightaway. With TalkTalk, I had the Chief Exec's Office Manager call me the same day and resolved everything
