Is Maguire not fouling Dunk there? He's grappling him as the cross comes over, and when the ball comes back from Matic?

There should be a film project that goes around for one season - and follows one player through every play (unbeknowst to that player) --- and shows the shithousery.  My suggestion let that first player be Harry MaGuire.  He's a Qu'nt

Maguire literally threw the defender(Dunk) to the ground there and got away with it

That takes the biscuit.

The lead up to the foul and then the goal was so preventable. Brighton was really poor there.

How is that a foul for Maguire, both pulling each other

That is the only way he can defend, by pulling and pushing

Always a good sign when the Premier League thread has jumpers three pages when United are playing.

Or so I thought...disappointing to see it’s only 1-1!

If United come out second half just as rubbish, I still back Brighton to take the lead. Lindelof is an absolute shambles and Matic is slower than cement drying, move the ball quickly and they will leave spaces open, especially considering Pogba's total lack of workrate.

Annoying as fuck though, I had a cheeky flutter on the Brighton win and that equalizer killed my buzz.

United are mid table hackers and divers. Without the favourable referee's and VAR decisions they are never finishing top 4 last season. It's just so blatant now nobody even questions it.

Sadly Brighton can't defend, so it was inevitable.

Yeah, Brighton do tend to make mistakes at the back and their finishing is sometimes erratic. Still expect Man Utd to win but it'll just mask Solskjaer lack of coaching ability for a while. If I wasn't already, I'd be so concerned if I were a Man Utd fan after that first half showing.

I assume the yellow for Matic would have been looked at by VAR, surprised (or not maybe) they didn't ask the ref to go and look at it again.

Throughout this barren period, their players have also had this swaggery little skip to their feet, similar to that we'd see from them when they were winning things, like they are packed with so much skill and trickery that their feet can't contain it and need to vent some of it. It looks utterly ridiculous on the likes of Fred or Qbert or Beanz.

I found out the other day that when a bunny does this skip-kick kind of thing it is called a "binky," or sometimes "popcorning."
Their players have been doing that for the last 5 years, whenever they try to look like a possession based team. That little fucking skip. Like someone who needs 3,4,5 touches trying to look as if they play 1 touch.

I am overjoyed now to know it has a name, and look forward to hipsterising over the next couple of weeks telling all my mates that Utd play, binky, popcorning footie.

I'm going straight into the Utd thread to be the first to put it out there  ;)

And then text my mates.

Cheers, you have made this game even funnier.

Thought the matic one could have gone either way to be honest, players put their arms up to protect themselves and if the ref thinks he’s only doing that and gives him the benefit of the doubt then fair enough.
How that isn’t a second yellow for Fernandes though I’ll never know. Only thing I can think of is if the ref is confused by the double jeopardy rule and thinks he can’t send him off. Either that or he’s another spineless twat.

Not one Brighton player claimed a foul there.

If they did that would have gone to Var and you can clearly see Maguire pushing him down before he pokes the ball in.

Really odd by Brighton.

Yep....totally.....I think this is a kind of "footy player" body language thing they must eventually all just mimic from certain players on the training ground. A kind of "too cool for school" swagger which is meant to impress and intimidate god only knows who to be honest.... I had a mate who went to the gym twice and then started walking around with that "body builder" swagger....you know, like he had a bog-roll under each arm-pit forcing his arms into that wide stance...."cos me lats are now just so huge, I can't bring me arms down fully..."..lol

Body language in sports and athletics is a fascinating topic all of it's own, but if you compare this United side to it's predecessors who were actually "good" and who had genuine confidence, you can tell at a glance that this lot are totally fucking trembling in that shirt, and are desperately attempting to mask their obscene price-tag-to-talent deficits..

I was thinking the same thing and according to the Mirror report about the £75m bid going in this week, the wages he has been offered and supposedly agreed to is £175k per week. I thought he was on more than that with Dortmund.

Dortmund have a real shot at the Bundesliga this year, they have some quality players
