Spot. Something has been totally off/weird with this tournament. Glad I'm not the only one to have felt that.
I think there's a case to say that it's just what it's like playing in England with a lot of games being played in grounds that would normally only have 1 or 2 international matches, if any, in the summer. We don't prepare roads like other countries and we probably don't prepare the "best" pitches for the softer kookaburra ball.
Teams often take time to get used to playing here, and in some cases even by the end of their tour they still aren't any the wiser. Plenty of sides flew in a week or so before with no real preparation (due to the calendar and other commitments)
It's probably no different to how it usually is, but it just highlights the variation of playing here when you have 50 odd ODIs in a month rather than 10 or so spread out over the summer.
