Reed manages to par 17 after an awful lie following tee shot

mcilroy pars 16. Now waiting around on 17 following Reed

Rory hits almost the front of the green, should be able to get up and down for birdie

Rory with a 5 footer for birdie. Reed in fairway on 18 and likely to go for green in 2. Got to feel Rory needs birdie-birdie finish to win.

Reed with a beauty of approach, should be routine birdie for him on 18. Rory needs to fairway this and then birdie out for the win most likely.

back on the tee, Rory almost goes into the water on 18, horrible stance for 2nd shot coming up

Did that seem like too much club? Surely that rules out going for the green now.

Stupid choice with driver, why bring the water into play? Got away with it and probably will lay up and try to win with a birdie

Looks like he's going for it, has an iron in so can see the logic there as long as lie isn't horrific.

Rory with a wedge in his hand, over that water, makes me nervous here.

It'll be some playoff between him and Reed with everything that's gone on.

Rory said post round interview that on 18 driver is too much and 3 wood not enough. So, he tried to hit an "easy" driver and flushed it. Said he was always going to lay up from there due to last year and yesterday when he hit it in the water going for the green in two.

funny the way golf does that some times, even for an amateur, you take it easy and it goes a mile

He would have had to go for it if he needed an eagle for play off or even to win maybe

but the pin wasnt really suitable to go for an eagle, be lucky to land a 2nd within 10 feet

Edit: Seems anyone who's applied for tickets last couple of years and not got them being offered first. Might be worth keeping an eye on inbox for anyone who didn't get first time around.

I looked on Sling tv for the CW channel, they don't have it.

Then was looking at local channel listings for my digital antenna and found it there. lol. Lots of rerun tv on that channel.

So it is a "free" channel for me and i'm still not watching LIV.

If you need a definition of sportswashing here it is.

Quote
LIV Golf lawyers admit tour generated ‘virtually zero’ revenue in first season

> Lawyers make admission in US federal court documents
> LIV and PGA Tour are involved in ongoing legal action

The LIV Golf tour, the breakaway circuit bankrolled by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, generated “virtually zero” revenue during its first season, its lawyers admitted in US federal court documents filed on Monday.

Attorneys for the rebel tour made the admission in a motion with the US district court for Northern California, in which LIV Golf asked US district court judge Beth Labson Freeman to deny the PGA Tour’s motion for leave to add the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and its governor, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, as plaintiffs in the tour’s countersuit against LIV Golf.

A trial date for January 2024 has been scheduled for the countersuit, in which the PGA Tour alleges that LIV Golf interfered with existing player contracts. However, the PGA Tour wants to delay that date because it said the PIF and Al-Rumayyan have not complied with discovery and depositions.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/feb/07/liv-golf-lawyers-admit-tour-generated-virtually-zero-revenue-in-first-season

So for those players that jumped on board because they weren't getting a fair share of the revenue from the PGA are now getting a shit load of cash from a tour that generates virtually no revenue.

In other words their participation is being funded for the sole purpose of improving the global image of their paymasters.

Those that went to LIV admit they did it for the money and less tournaments so they could be home with their families more.

Now those same, we wanted to play fewer tournaments, are whinging because they can't play in more tournaments on the PGA tour and cherry pick the top tournaments with the bigger purses.

Seems he is better than I thought. I suppose it would explain why he wasn't arsed with football half the time (and still one of the best British players ever in terms of success). Good luck to him in his new endevours I suppose.

It was quite funny watching him being interviewed the other day on the course.

The woman interviewer brought up his "soccer" career and brought up the total dedication he must have had to training and playing at the highest level.

He actually looked as though he wanted to say "yeah, right" but just had a sort of restrained smile and quickly moved on.

It was quite a funny moment.
All the badge kissing in the world don't make up for the fact that they are, frankly, not Liverpool Football Club. It's not their fault. Its just how it is.
