I wonder, do Man United go on like this every time they go to West Ham?
WHU 'fans' absolutely wrecked their team bus not too long ago in an incident far more serious and sinister than anything that happened at Anfield, yet you never seem to hear this ridiculous hysteria from them.
You are right, of course. They are six points behind and rattled. They need to shift the narrative and focus around LFC towards the negative. It's a carefully crafted ploy on their part. They actually want something to happen, and are setting the scene to promote it happening. One tit throws a bottle and the media make out it was the apocolypse all over again. Public opinion and sympathy gets behind Abu Dhabi in their push for the title over those 'nasty scousers'.
To any potential trouble makers out there; you are being set up as useful idiots for the Abu Dhabi cause. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!
It is bizarre.
I think the fan element of it is probably to be expected, especially when you’re getting your basis of their opinions from the Internet. Honestly if we went to the Ethiad and our bus got smashed up, there’d doubtless be tonnes on here screaming blue murder for years as well.
If City had won that game, or even that tie, you’d hear about it far less. They swaggered into Anfield much like Mourinho’s Chelsea did in 05 and unlike that Chelsea team, got absolutely embarrassed. It’s in their interests to shift the narrative onto the bus incident rather than focus on City getting tactically out thought and physically out played.
What I will say though is that our own manager made clear at the time how disappointed he was by the whole incident and has repeated that recently, that should be enough to make people not repeat the same, rather than anything City are trying to conjure up.
My own opinion is that all involved, Klopp included, have made more of quite a predictable event happening when City drive their bus through a load of hyped up, half pissed fans, especially when you consider the Manchester/Liverpool element. But at the end of the day it’s not for me or anyone else to say that, the manager of the club has spoken and hopefully people listen.
