He probably had a slight injury that they didn’t want to risk.  They won their first 3 Champions League games so are pretty much through with the group they have so why take a risk on making an injury worse when they are playing against the best team in Europe on Sunday.

People seem to forget just how good those Barca teams were, Messi was just a cog.

While Guardiola is a good manager, he's only done it with excellent teams that were provided for him or he had the ridiculous funds to go any buy. Klopp is on a different level to him, look what he did with Dortmund and what he has done here.

If the Ederson thing is “mind games” it’s a bit of an odd one.  I mean this Liverpool team spent the first couple of months of the season without their first choice keeper and only lost the one game, against Napoli.  I mean they’re perfectly aware of the fact that missing an excellent keeper doesn’t automatically mean you’re a sitting duck.  No-one is daft enough to think that Sunday is in any way easier if a keeper who cost £20million plays instead of one that cost £35million.

It’s a strange position to choose.  I’m not saying it’s definitely not an attempt at a ruse, I’m just saying if it is it’s an ill thought out one.

leaving "mind games" to one side it is definitely a blow for them if he doesnt play.
