If the Ederson thing is “mind games” it’s a bit of an odd one. I mean this Liverpool team spent the first couple of months of the season without their first choice keeper and only lost the one game, against Napoli. I mean they’re perfectly aware of the fact that missing an excellent keeper doesn’t automatically mean you’re a sitting duck. No-one is daft enough to think that Sunday is in any way easier if a keeper who cost £20million plays instead of one that cost £35million.
It’s a strange position to choose. I’m not saying it’s definitely not an attempt at a ruse, I’m just saying if it is it’s an ill thought out one.
