Any business with CCTV has to have a written policy explicitly stating the reason for the cameras (usually site security etc). It's not okay to use the footage for any other purpose so if someone tried to discipline you for having camera footage of you being too long in the toilet (or whatever) then they're on really shaky ground.
If they love their cameras so much then one thing we've been hit by recently from a disgruntled leaver is the new GDPR 'subject access request'. Ask them for copies of all data you feature in, this includes camera recordings (you will have to justify it in the request). Let them waste time going through all the footage and burning it all to disc for you. Might give the husband something to do anyway.

As far as I'm aware there aren't even signs up advising clients that cctv is in operation, never mind a written policy.
