Seen that the Newz bar has finally been shut down. Every time I've been past there late on recently the bizzies have been out.

Is that on Water St? As my cousin is trying to book that place!!

The one on Wood Street?  Going back a few years but it used to be really warm in there - uncomfortably so and was generally average at best.

Used to go to the Krazyhouse quite a bit along with Le Bateau if I was going to a club, but spent most my time in Magnet, Beluga, Baa Bar and Jacaranda.  Happy times!

I got talking to a couple of Jocks a couple of years ago and they told me about their trip down to Anfield in 1977 for the World Cup game with Wales. They loved Liverpool and had a fantastic time while they were here. They told about their visit to the She Club after the game, and their faces took on a look of long lost pleasure and forgotten ecstacy. Apparently all the Scots went to the She after the game and scenes of debauchery followed.
I could hear the crowd from our house in Norris Green, the crowd was that loud. I was waiting to get the 61 to school the following day at 8.30 am and drunken Jocks were staggering past Norris Green park still pissed.
Before opening times were extended, The Gladray was sound for a snidey afternoon pint, bunking off work and waiting for stippers.
Age and guile beat youth, innocence and a bad hair cut.

First - The Quarter Bar on Matthew Street i think. Probably the easiest place in town for under 18's to get in, still full of kids these days.

Favorite - Probably the Krazy House to be honest, despite the state of the bogs and it being a complete sweat box i've had my best nights out in there. I like the Baa Bar aswell, the newish one on Hardman Street and Scream aswell.

Worst - Anywhere on Concert Square, full of dickheads. Like to avoid the Superstar Boudwar and Fudge n all simply because they're both shit.

Used to love Liquidation when it was at the old Hardy's in Hardman Street, in the days when it was so popular there'd be not only a massive queue to get in but also a queue to get to the upstairs bit where the indie music was played, because numbers were so limited on that floor! Would be there most Saturday nights. Also used to go to Le Bateau and The Krazyhouse quite a lot. This is mainly around mid to late 90s time.
The Razz was probably the biggest dive I went to.

There used to be a club in the road just off near the top of Bold Street, just by where the railway goes past, can't remember what it was called or even if it's still there?

It was called the Mardi Gras. I was googling liquidation at Hardys and this post came up. I used to love it in there.

Woodies bar just off concert square: circa 2006-2009, 3pound quadruple vodkas and had a strip up the stairs and karaoke every night of the week.

One of the best when I was a lad was the Squires in Woolton village, it could a right bastard to get in - like the Cabin could - but the girls almost always lived locally so was boss for copping off. Not like in town where it would be Maghull, Kirkby, Wirral basically anywhere etc. which were miles away and required plenty of cash for taxis. My mate was well in there so we used to be laughing but if I ever went with another mate they would give him the dry bath and refuse him entry, would be fine on my own though. Bouncers could be right pricks but hey that was the norm for Liverpool then, not sure if it still is but assume so. The stairs to get in where very steep (it was above a DIY shop) and if you caused any hassle in there they would normally be quite nice and shepherd you towards the door then lob you down the stairs for good measure.

They would knock back gangs of girls if they looked a bit too loud/pissed, pretty rare that for clubs in my day.

Coverted to flats a few years ago after an "incident" when the bouncers beat the shit out of a punter and the police opposed the licence and that was the end of that.

I'm killing time until I finish work and googled to try and find a pic of some of the old clubs I used to go to and found this thread...

So:

First : Flintlocks. About 2/3 of the 6th form at St. Eddie's used to go there including the small female contingent and I recall my joy as a 16 year old that the girls in the 6th form all decided that they would start to wear stockings on a night out and would flash us  :o

Worst: Didn't mind the Buzz for a while but then got full of dickheads and I split my leg open there so bad memories!! Went in the Newz bar a few times slighty later on in years and couldn't bear it.

Fav: Scotts (then Fridays), used to love that place. Same crowd every week and used to be a nice atmosphere (until Buzz shut down and the dickheads started going there) and Paradox (lived in Kirkby so it was easier to get home from)
Stay young and invincible. Come what may we're unstoppable.

Went to the All Fours in Eberle Street in 1969 but after an altercation in which a lad was killed by a broken glass it was closed and we moved on to the re-opened Cavern. The All Fours re-opened and a couple of years later a mate was DJing there and got me, and my now wife in on a freebie.

First: The Harrington on Matthew Street
Best: Macs on Concert Street. Practically lived there for about five years.
Worst: 051 - saturday night mid '90's. Grim.

Not sure if it was Wilsons, The Krazyhouse or Planet X......anyway a mate of mine went and told the DJ that Dave Mustaine from Megadeth had died. The DJ got on the mic and says "For Dave" and then played an hour long Megadeth megamix. Fun times!
