Online player archive?

(1/3) > >>

MichaelA:
The Ian Callaghan thread indicates that the web seems to lack a decent player archive.
According to my grandmother, my great grandfather played for Liverpool (or was on the books) before he got called up to fight in WW1. I would like to find out if this was true; not least because I would like to show my Nan if there is something, somewhere.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Michael

Barrettski:
Michael - The-Kop web page thingy has a full list of players: http://www.the-kop.f2s.com/players/az.htm ... but I've never found a full archive of who tha players were and when they played.

I've tracked relatives before who played for other clubs by writing to the FA though... they have an archivist who works on this stuff, since family trees became de rigeur.

I could dig out the address if you like??

MichaelA:
Barretski, if its no trouble, I would appreciate the address.
I saw my Nan on New Years Eve, and she was threatening to go down to Anfield to give them all a kick (she`s nearly 90)! So maybe she got down to Melwood between Bolton and Birmingham games!

Michael

Barrettski:
No worries, I've delegated the Family Tree search to Mommy Barrettski but I'm sure she still has the address...

I'll catch her between G&Ts and get back to you...

Oh and any chance of getting your Nan along regularly, that kind of kick is worth millions...??

James:
I don't know if this is of any help to you, but the Liverpool Way fanzine website has an A-Z guide as well.
