Brilliant goalkeeping by Kelleher.

How weird, though he did look off before the back heel, albeit from this camera angle.

Yet there was no flag up don’t think I have ever seen a slower reaction by a match official. Kelleher is doing brilliantly.

I know it's sometimes good to have a think before flagging but that was ridiculously late.

I didn't see if the junior bitters had a go at him off camera though.

And Kelleher is doing great.

I might be biased because I rate him so highly, but I thought Leighton Clarkson was the best player on the pitch in the first half. His passing ability is incredible.

Kelleher has made a couple of excellent saves, Rhys Williams has played well, Conor Bradley has made a promising start.

Kelleher had a fantastic half, we really could have conceded 3-4. Going forward we look exceptional though, playing the better football by far. The ev have had chances on the counter but we are playing some great stuff. Just lacking that final ball.

Kelleher has been exceptional.

Everton's chances are coming from our mistakes, defensively we've been a bit too sloppy.

It’s been a bit poor second half we haven’t created enough. Beck coming on now.

Certainly second best for most of that half but great to get the result. Thought the left side of defence was shaky throughout (savage and Clayton) but Williams and Bradley were solid. Kelleher motm for me, Clarkson was his usual self dictating from the 6 position.

Kelleher so needs a loan move.

He needed one last year to be honest but this can't believe some Championship clubs are not looking to take him.

See the mirror reporting a friendly v a Huddersfield XI on Sunday 1-1

Minamino scored

Wasn’t sure where to post it!!

from the Echo;

Xherdan Shaqiri made his long-awaited return to action as Liverpool's fringe players were given a run-out in a friendly over the weekend. Shaqiri was one of several senior squad members to feature as the Reds drew 1-1 with a Huddersfield Town B side at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Swiss international, who has played just seven first-team minutes since January 11, sat out all three warm-up friendlies and wasn't involved in either the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal or the Premier League win over Leeds United on Saturday evening.

Takumi Minamino, an unused substitute against Leeds, gave Liverpool the lead on the stroke of half-time with a close-range finish, only for the visitors to snatch a leveller in the final 15 minutes through an own goal. It continued Minamino's good form and would have sent a timely message to Jurgen Klopp ahead of Sunday's Premier League trip to big-spenders Chelsea.

With the Reds boss keen for those not involved on Saturday to be given minutes, Adrian, James Milner, Divock Origi and Marko Grujic all featured. Joel Matip, who came on for the last few minutes against Leeds, also played, while Loris Karius, Rhian Brewster and Harry Wilson emerged as substitutes.

The remainder of the team was made up of youngsters who were not involved for the U23s in their Premier League 2 opener against Everton on the same day. Neco Williams, Harvey Elliott, Ki-Jana Hoever, Billy Koumetio, Nathaniel Phillips and Sepp van den Berg were all notable absentees from the game at Kirkby, which Liverpool won 1-0 through Jake Cain's early strike.
There was a two-minute interlude where Liverpool’s three-man attack squared up against United’s three-man defence and basically stalked them back into their own penalty area, like battle-hardened mountain wolves closing in on a flock of geriatric sheep.  Barney Ronay at Anfield @barneyronay Sun 19 Jan 2020 20.36 GMT

Ryan Flynn was a funny one He played for Falkirk between 2009 and 2011 I was playing with the Under 18s at the time and played against him you could see he was a cut above the rest but when to the matches was half the player he was in training games he got a move to Sheffield United . I think he is at St Mirren now . Nemeth was one I was excited for never quite hit the heights with the backing he got.

Back on this list, just noticed San Jose has been released from Athletic this summer after 10 years!
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

Almost a hat-trick for Stewart, good save by the Stoke goalkeeper.

Great play by Tyler Morton to create the chance, he's been really impressive today.

That’s James Balagizi, and I agree he has been brilliant.
Some of the things he does on the pitch are ridiculous for someone who’s not turned 17 yet. Strength, balance, pace and composure at that age, it’s quite incredible.
You get used to seeing great physical/athletic prospects who don’t quite have the skill or nous at this level, but he always has his head up and picks the right pass. He could be something quite special.

He scored 16 last year before getting injured then the pandemic, I think he would have had a few more u23 appearances otherwise. I can definitely see him moving up at some point or points this season. The u23s don’t have a ton of forwards, and the likes if a Liam Millar etc could still move on.

He's quality for his age mate. The key for him is to play games, so I doubt he will fully move up until Jan but he will still be in and around the under 23's before then.
