I felt a bit sorry for Claire when they said her food was too spaced out on the plate. Seems a petty thing to pick up on when they said it tasted great.
Felt the same.

They'll all do well out of it but he was a worthy winner.

Thought Thomas was a deserving winner, but I'd go to any restaurant that advertised Sandy cooking.
If I were a linesman, I would execute defenders who applauded my offsides.

Yes I agree Thomas deserved to win, but Sandy has some really interesting ideas.

Haha John Barnes on Celebrity MasterChef.

He has to make an "Anfield Wrap" at some point.  ;)

Other than him, I've heard of about six of them. Sam Quek gets everywhere. Thomas from The Apprentice should be a good laugh.

As long as JB gets further than Judy Murray I'll be happy.

Apart from that, like you my knowledge of them is limited, 7 I recognise.

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who was counting. I got five.

I usually give the celebrity version a miss. It just doesn't interest me nearly as much as the regular or professional competitions.

I think it's entertaining watching how some of them get it so badly wrong, but then someone will surprise you and cook amazing food.

I agree. It seems like her agent goes for the scattergun approach when it comes to booking her.

As usual I don`t know who most of them are, but will still watch it anyway. They will have the usual "can`t boil water" contestants and then the ones that are vaguely competent. Weirdly it seems if you're an ex rugby player you should automatically be moved onto a michelin star.

Spent hours talking hopeless Judi through her part of the TfL cook, then did a slightly dry paella and lost out to her.

I don't understand why they are doing this. Is it to comment on the chef as they are cooking, which they can't do whilst sitting in front of them? Or is it because of COVID?

It can't be COVID, can it? Because they return to the room and try the food!

It feels like a really strong start to the show - certainly the people who have gone through so far, and even the young guy who had his own restaurant who didn't make it.

Looks like it's going to be a really great show this year - definitely some strong early showings. Almost as strong as Marcus Wareing's eyes.

I was talking to my missus about it last night. We think it's about the rule of 6.

Before challenge - Monica, Marcus, Gregg, Camera man, Sound guy and Floor manager (6)

During challenge - Monica or Marcus, The chef, Gregg, Camera man, Sound guy and Floor manager (6)

Tasting - Monica, Marcus, The chef, Gregg, Sound guy and Floor manager (camera guy leaves with multiple cameras locked to get the judging shots). Close up footage collected either before or after tasting when there are less people.

Hmm! That is interesting.

But what about things like Coronation Street or EE where rule of six doesn't seem to exist? Same with some of the reality shows. And The Last Leg often have more than 6 people around.

I would have thought filming would have special dispensations?

But it does feel like there is some kind of restriction involved due to the oddity of it all. But I have actually enjoyed it. Before, you'd have to gauge from the eye rolls or the looks they shoot each other or the odd shake of the head but this commentary is a good idea. Not sure it is executed the best but I have enjoyed it.
