Deal nearly done for part sale of Everton. The only way they could get the stadium built, imo.

I look forward to them holding banners saying "We are skint" instead of the ones they were going on about being rich a year or so ago.

Americans taking advantage of the weak pound. Shows Moshiri was never in a position to finance that stadium.

Something had to give, didn't it?

Moshilad has been pissing his own money into the Red River Mersey trying to get the project this far. All well and good, but there was no way they were going to complete the build and fit it out as things stood. They simply don't have the funding, despite trying to raise it for years.

Regarding the stadium itself, they'll have done well getting the proposed capacity on that site. Driving past recently I could see the concrete terracing the seats will sit on is at its maximum height now on their south stand, and it doesn't look big at all. I can see now why Liverpool said they had no interest in the site and it was too small anyway.

They are lucky it isn't higher.

As said in the article, it wasn't just a pitch invasion; there was also violent and abusive behaviour. The club also knew full well the Lonsdale wearers would invade the field of play regardless of whether they stayed up or went down, yet they still failed to prevent the ensuing chaos.

They got off lightly.

The stop oil protester who tied himself to the post at Woodison has been given a 6 week prison sentence, yet Richarlison who endangered fans by throwing a pyrotechnic at them, got nothing. Hardly seems fair does it.

If Richarlison was sent off at Anfield for violent conduct (or for throwing the flare against Chelsea or gets the immediate ban) then they probably get relegated.

If the PL weren't spineless they'd have been punished heavily for breaking FFP.

Yet they're hard done to because they were fined about 10 days worth of wages to James Rodriguez when he was there, for severe criminal behaviour, damage and rule breaking by their fans.

The Bitters' mindset dictates that they should be able to do, say and chant anything they like with impunity.

If others do likewise their reaction depends on how it affects them or Liverpool.

If Liverpool do it then it's mandatory to go into a self-righteous, mouth-foaming rage of epic proportions.

It's quite bizarre really. He was charged with aggravated trespass. If that's the case, most of Goodison should also have got six weeks too, for their own aggravated trespass.

Anyway, it seems he won't serve the time because he's been in custody since the summer, so has already served it.

He's one of the reasons why the shite didn't get relegated. I'd have given a much harsher prison sentence, to be honest. That or forced him to watch Everton home and away for the rest of his life.

How disappointing.

Was hoping we'd still be looking at a rotting, closed-down, half-built site in 2032.

And them in League 1.

A Tory, a worker and an immigrant are sat round a table. There's a plate of 10 biscuits in the middle. The Tory takes 9 then turns to the worker and says "that immigrant is trying to steal your biscuit"

This is an actual real press release I've seen today :lmao

Quote
Stripchat - an adult company - is officially extending a 10-year, $20 million per year offer to have the stadium named, “Stripchat Sustainability Stadium.”

Said Max Bennett, Stripchat’s Vice President of New Media: “Stripchat has officially extended our offer to Everton to be the official naming partner for the club’s new stadium. If our bid were to be accepted, we would make a concerted effort to make ‘Stripchat Sustainability Stadium’ the most progressive, responsible, and sustainable stadium in the world.”

As a part of the agreement, Stripchat would ensure the stadium limits carbon output and is used to host philanthropic events of importance to the company. These events would include - but won’t be limited to - sexual health events during “No Nut November,” and support events for veterans during PTSD Awareness Month in June.

Stripchat is an inclusive adult entertainment webcam company that receives 600 million views on average each month.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."
