Rush only scored 5 in a single game. Expecting 20 from Gakpo is unrealistic.

I imagine you'd get long odds on that. Anyone got Ivan Toney's number?

Not very hyped about this one, probably as it was fully unexpected and I never watched a minute of him. Good to have backup in that spor, let’s give him time to get a feel for the league and find his stride.

Haven't seen a great deal of him as I didn't watch the World Cup but from what I gather he's another forward who can play across the front line. Think we're going to be seeing a lot of interplay and position swapping from the front three with him and Diaz potentially in there. Decent price too.

I didn't watch it because of the fact that they bribed their way into it and 6500+ immigrants died to make the stadiums. So got nothing to do with being a football fan.

Strong feeling he'll be played in midfield more than we think. Given Diaz/Jota/Firmino are out, it probably won't be straight away, but I think he'll be moulded into an attack-minded and athletic midfielder by Klopp. I think his qualities are quite similar to Jude's when you take their actual positions out of the equation, so I wouldn't be surprised if we've earmarked him to be a midfielder for us, who can also do a more than capable job in attack.

Some may laugh at this given he's a forward, but technically so was Gini and Klopp saw something different for him within our system. I personally think he has a lot of potential as a midfielder for the way we like to play.

International football - shite that gets our players injured. Other leagues - don’t care, don’t have time. Other teams in PL - only if result directly impacts us in some big way.

Have I missed anything?

 ???

People can watch whatever football they want and call themselves a fan.

Many non football reasons to not watch the world cup this time round, but also - there are a lot of people who just aren’t arsed with international football regardless. They aren’t less a fan than you.

Feels like the kind of signing that we’ve had so much success from over the years, so I’m happy. The Diaz/Jota injuries have left us in a bit of a mess, and I think bringing forward a Firmino ‘replacement’ (not in style, but in numbers) makes a lot of sense.

He’s a good age, and has had glowing references about his character from PSV fans. Can’t wait to see him play.

He wasn't amazing at the WC anyway. But that might have been down to Van Gaal's negative Dutch tactics.

I think so as well, to some extent.
Unless we change quite a bit from the 433.
Which we actually might.
