On a psychological note, Autumn used to depress me greatly. I'm a Summer person really, and Autumn felt like everything was closing in and dying.
It wasn't until I reframed it in my head that Autumn is when nature basically has a rest that I felt better about this time of year.
I think we can all identify with needing a good old rest before going again.
but it's also a great time of the year for photography - and not just the autumnal colours, as they fade, but the more interesting clouds, the reflections from the wet and damp that the weather creates, the textures seem to pop more and then you can have snowy landscapes as we move further on
then there's fungi - yes i am that sad - where you can look and find interesting examples whilst walking through the woods - i even saw some dead man's fingers in croxteth hall park (see below for similar image not mine)
dressing up for the colder weather and then coming home to a warm house with a big pan of scouse on - yeh baby!
