I've various issues with torrents. Thing is they could just show it at some really small independent cinemas.

Fact in Liverpool, Cornerhouse in Manchester.

Kev isn't right, film isn't dead, it's just that Tusk flopped and was rushed to iTunes and other VOD outlets. No theatre would book a film that is already available to legally watch in your own home, it just doesn't make sense.

I wouldn't go that far.

Smith was always going to make his money on this through VOD and DVD/Blu-ray sales. Thats his market

Tusk paid back all his investors before it even went to cinema through international distribution. His next 3 films (Yoga Hosers, Moose Jaws and Clerks 3) have all been greenlit based on that

Tusk was always going to be a difficult sell to the mainstream. Too scary for the tweeners and not scary enough for the horror porn audience.

I agree that it should have been picked up by the smaller screens as he has a cult audience and he'd fill those.

He did it for Red State (even included him flying over to do Q&A's alongside it).

I'll catch it on torrent and if its good I'll buy it in the new year

Sorry, my mistake its only on the US iTunes, its also available on DVD/Bluray at the end of the month in the states. I'll just import it then.

Still, UK cinemas aren't going to show a film that made next to nothing at US theatres, it just doesn't make financial sense. Smith has always done better on DVD.

He said he was done after Red State and changed his mind with Tusk as he realised he wanted to see it and no-one else would make it.

I was coming more from an angle that he has re discovered his love of film making (which is great). So surprised to see he's already finished the script for Mallrats 2.

Looking forward to seeing Jason Lee back in a Kevin Smith film. Chasing Amy is my favourite Kevin Smith film (followed by Clerks 2 which I know is controversial).

I know he's become a very fast writer (some may say that's because it's not very good - I'd disagree)

He got through the scripts for other projects very quickly.

Jason Mewes celebrates 5 years of sobriety tomorrow.

Anyone that has read 'Me and my Shadow' knows just how heartbreaking his story is and how he has managed to turn his life around is nothing short of incredible.

Married and recently becoming a father has changed his life.

I was trying to do a killer standup special this evening but I might’ve gone too far. After the first show, I felt kinda nauseous. I threw up a little but it didn’t seem to help. Then I started sweating buckets and my chest felt heavy. Turns out I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life at the #glendale hospital told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (also known as “the Widow-Maker” because when it goes, you’re a goner). If I hadn’t canceled the second show to go to the hospital, the Doc said I would’ve died tonight. For now, I’m still above ground! But this is what I learned about myself during this crisis: death was always the thing I was most terrified of in life. When the time came, I never imagined I’d ever be able to die with dignity - I assumed I’d die screaming, like my Dad (who lost his life to a massive heart attack). But even as they cut into my groin to slip a stent into the lethal Widow-Maker, I was filled with a sense of calm. I’ve had a great life: loved by parents who raised me to become the individual I am. I’ve had a weird, wonderful career in all sorts of media, amazing friends, the best wife in the world and an incredible daughter who made me a Dad. But as I stared into the infinite, I realized I was relatively content. Yes, I’d miss life as it moved on without me - and I was bummed we weren’t gonna get to make #jayandsilentbobreboot before I shuffled loose the mortal coil. But generally speaking, I was okay with the end, if this was gonna be it. I’ve gotten to do so many cool things and I’ve had so many adventures - how could I be shitty about finally paying the tab. But the good folks at the Glendale hospital had other plans and the expertise to mend me. Total strangers saved my life tonight (as well as my friends @jordanmonsanto & @iamemilydawn, who called the ambulance). This is all a part of my mythology now and I’m sure I’ll be facing some lifestyle changes (maybe it’s time to go Vegan). But the point of this post is to tell you that I faced my greatest fear tonight... and it wasn’t as bad as I’ve always imagined it’d be. I don’t want my life to end but if it ends, I can’t complain. It was such a gift. #KevinSmith

I was sorry to hear this. He's a talented guy, and although I haven't always agreed with certain things he's said or done, I wish him a full recovery and would have been really saddened if
