Yes he may be shite at this very moment. But the thing is that Rafa can transform him into a goalscoring machine... thats the way he likes it - Rafa doesnt want the finished product. plus he will come cheap.

What are you basing that assumption on exactly?

Basing on the assumption that Kuyt can also be turned into so and so?

Free transfer = hell a lot more expensive wage and signing on fees. Is it that hard to understand?

Based on:

the more i look at it the more i think with mourihno in charge of us w'd have a better chance of winning the league.

53 goals in his last 69 league appearances and you feel that Kuijt has to be turned into a prolific striker then?

Yes they are less expensive but most free agent will earn more wages & signing on fees than regular tranfer so it will become almost equal at the end of the contract.

Example :

Regular transfer

12M transfer fees + 2M signing on fees + 60,000 / week on 5yrs (15M) = 29M

Free transfer

4M signing on fees + 90,000 / week on 5 yrs (22.5M) = 26.5M

Yeah,  and that Ruud lad that the Mancs bought too.  Ronaldo did alright in Holland as well, so better write him off and all.  Point is that Kuijt may or may not do well in the Premiership but he does at least have a good scoring record. He does not need to be 'turned into' a goal scorer.   Ibrahimovich has never been prolific in that sense, in any league, so expecting Rafa to be able to magically turn him into a goal machine as was suggested is a  bit over-optimistic.

Remember Ibrahimovich coming up with a story just before the World Cup about him never being more unfit.

Blamed the Italian food, actually..also seemed like he was having a bit of a dig at the Juve coaching staff.

Maybe part of the reason he had an indifferent World Cup.

I haven't seen too much of him in Serie A, but alot of class players had a shite World Cup.

.....And yet so many people have based their perceptions of players on that tournament alone.  Imagine if it was the first time you had seen Stevie, Ronaldinho, Lampard, Ballack etc. average at best, the lot of 'em.....sorry Stevie.

I would love Zlatan to join us as i have stated in numerous occasion's. He is a top player that would further enhance our reputation as one of the biggest clubs in this planet(sounds better than kings of europe). He has his risks well so does everyone.

I would love him to join or Trez but both are unlikely as they would rather play in sunny spain or stay in italy.

Hope climate chance would get us bigger stars and bring more brazilian's to our league :)

it says Ibrahimovic is very close to signing for Inter. In the last paragraph however it says
----------------------------------
Yesterday there were rumours that placed Zlatan in Liverpool.

According to Guillem Balague, Spanish football pundit and personal friend of the Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez, Ibra is on the club's shortlist.
- Liverpool need a striker. There have been speculations about names from the Spanish league, but there are also players in Juventus and that includes Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet.
- Rafa waits for what will happen to them (relegation) before he tries to get them, says Balague to BBC Radio 5.

Ibrahimovic is a star, but what he does is not yet as good as his talent (or his ego).

As for him gaining weight in Italy, I remember ZI saying that Juve wanted him to be heavier than he first was when he came to Juve.
